Sliding mode control for LPV systems

2016 American Control Conference (ACC), 2016
LPV models are extremely appealing, as they allow describing the dynamics of many physical systems that are of interest in various engineering applications. For such systems, dedicated control approaches have been proposed, which rely on the measurement of the scheduling variables and exploit such information for improving the closed-loop performance ...

THE SMOOTH SLIDING MODE CONTROLLER AND FILTER

Control and Intelligent Systems, 2010
Summary: This paper proposes a combined state feedback and control method based on the concept of Variable Structure Systems (VSS). This method is defined as the Smooth Sliding Mode Controller and Filter (SSMCF) and can be applied to a class of nonlinear systems. This paper provides a derivation of the SSMCF and defines the conditions for its stability.

An adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode controller

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1998
This paper deals with a new adaptive fuzzy sliding-mode controller and its application to a robot manipulator arm. The theory for this approach and for the heuristics-based linguistic adaptation is presented, and a mathematical description is derived. Furthermore, an application of this adaptive controller for a two-link robot arm is shown.

A comparison of sliding mode fuzzy controller and fuzzy sliding mode controller

PeachFuzz 2000. 19th International Conference of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society - NAFIPS (Cat. No.00TH8500), 2002
Sliding mode control and fuzzy logic control have been combined together in a variety of ways. One approach taken by many researchers is to use fuzzy logic to smooth the chattering in sliding mode control. Another unusual approach taken by few researchers is to use sliding mode control in a fuzzy logic controller.

Sliding-Mode Control Variations

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2007
The purpose of this paper is to present a framework in which high-order control variations are employed in sliding mode control to modify the sliding dynamics and/or reduce the dimension of the sliding surface. Control variations are implemented as sampled data feedback controllers with the variations generated during the sample intervals.

Singular sliding-mode control

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2001
Summary: This paper studies sliding-mode control where the usual regularity assumptions need not hold. In particular, we allow ``singular submanifolds'' near which the state trajectory cannot be steered toward the sliding surface. For nonlinear systems whose singular submanifold satisfies suitable transversality conditions, we identify a class of ...

Control Variations in Sliding Mode Control

Proceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
The purpose of this paper is to present a frame-work in which high-order control variations are employed in sliding mode control to modify the sliding dynamics and/or reduce the dimension of the sliding surface. Control variations are implemented as sampled data feedback controllers with the variations generated during the sample intervals.

Sliding Mode Control

2021
The fundamental principles of first and second order sliding mode control are presented. It is shown that first order sliding mode control is robust to exogenous disturbances, but involves the use of a discontinuous control signal that may lead to a chattering effect in which the control input rapidly fluctuates. Chattering is generally undesirable, as

A control engineer's guide to sliding mode control

Proceedings. 1996 IEEE International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems. - VSS'96 -, 1999
This paper presents a guide to sliding mode control for practising control engineers. It offers an accurate assessment of the so-called chattering phenomenon, catalogues implementable sliding mode control design solutions, and provides a frame of reference for future sliding mode control research.

Adaptive sliding mode control with moving sliding surface

Applied Soft Computing, 2016
Graphical abstractDisplay Omitted HighlightsThe paper presents an improvement of control performance of sliding mode control. The proposed method reduces duration of the undesirable approaching phase. The control parameters are tuned by fuzzy logic rules. The performance improvement was confirmed by simulation study. A continuous sliding mode control with
