β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Disturbance Observer-Based Control to Guarantee a Sliding Mode Without Sliding Mode Control
This paper presents a novel disturbance observer (DOB)-based control method to prevent the deterioration of transient response due to disturbances. The proposed method uses sliding mode dynamics without a sliding mode control (SMC) structure and does not require an upper bound of disturbance (UBD), which is needed for SMC.

PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

New Reaching Law Control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor With Extended Disturbance Observer
In order to improve the anti-disturbance performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo system, a sliding-mode control strategy using a new reaching law (NRL) is proposed.

Disturbance decoupled fault reconstruction using sliding mode observers [PDF]
AbstractThis paper investigates and presents conditions that guarantee disturbance decoupled fault reconstruction using sliding mode observers, which are less stringent than those of previous work, and show that disturbance reconstruction is not necessary. An aircraft model validates the ideas proposed in this paper.Copyright © 2010 John Wiley and Sons

This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell
