Heat shock protein 72 attenuates atherosclerosis in apolipoprotein E‐deficient mice

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Heat shock (HS) + mild electrical stimulation (MES)‐induced heat shock protein (HSP)72 expression prevents atherogenesis in HSP72+/+/ApoE−/− mice. HS + MES‐induced HSP72 expression reduces macrophage infiltration, oxidative stress, JNK activity, and MCP‐1 expression, and alters macrophage polarity from M1 to M2.

Cognitive and motor reserve in Parkinson's disease: Two sides of the same coin?

open access: yesJournal of Neuropsychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Cognitive reserve (CR) and motor reserve (MR) are constructs that can explain why some people are more resilient than others to neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease (PD). However, it is unclear whether these reserves exert domain‐specific or cross‐domain influences.

Reconstruction of native cellular microanatomy in a novel bioengineered full thickness human nasal mucosal construct

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Bioengineered tissue constructs are vital technologies employed in in vitro testing of both fundamental biological principles and industrial screening practices. Current approaches to modelling the nasal mucosa in vitro are not representative and are associated with limitations that impact their reliability and predictive value.

Evaluating Large Language Model‐Assisted Emergency Triage: A Comparison of Acuity Assessments by GPT‐4 and Medical Experts

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Nursing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the accuracy of the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) assignments by GPT‐4, a large language model (LLM), compared to senior emergency department (ED) nurses and physicians. Method An observational study of 100 consecutive adult ED patients was conducted. ESI scores assigned by GPT‐4, triage nurses, and by a senior clinician. Both

Flops and Missed Opportunities: The Differential Effect of Distinct Failure Types on Persistence With Underperforming Innovation Projects

open access: yesJournal of Product Innovation Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Academic Abstract Without recognizing how past failures bias subsequent choices, managers risk decisions that waste resources or prematurely abandon promising opportunities. This study draws on risk‐type preference‐shift theory and extends it with individual and organizational boundary conditions to examine how distinct failure experiences ...

The Efficacy of Pharmacotherapy Intervention on Anthropometric Outcomes in Survivors of Childhood Brain Tumors: An Updated Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Many survivors of childhood brain tumors face long‐term adverse health outcomes like obesity. Uncertainties surround the effect of interventions to manage obesity‐related outcomes in survivors of childhood brain tumors. The goal of this updated systematic review and meta‐analysis was to provide the best estimate of the treatment ...
