Triethyl phosphate (TEP) as a green solvent for solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS)

open access: yesGreen Chemistry Letters and Reviews
Triethyl phosphate (TEP) is a new member of the Green Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (GSPPS) toolbox. TEP shows almost no toxicity and no carcinogenic or mutagenic properties. It degrades, giving the rather innocuous phosphoric acid and ethanol. TEP has a

Temporal and Cell‐Specific Regulation of Synaptic Homeostasis by the Chromatin Remodeler Chd1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chd1, the Drosophila homologue of mammalian CHD2 ‐ a gene linked to autism, epilepsy, and intellectual disability, is required for synaptic homeostatic plasticity. Chd1 in glia is necessary for the rapid induction of synaptic homeostasis, whereas Chd1 in motoneurons, muscle, and glia is critical for long‐term maintenance.

New green base for Fmoc removal in solid-phase peptide synthesis: 1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene (DBN), a promising sustainable alternative to piperidine

open access: yesGreen Chemistry Letters and Reviews
Developing greener synthetic methodologies requires replacing hazardous reagents with more sustainable alternatives. In solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), piperidine is the standard base for Fmoc group removal, but its toxicity, environmental concerns,

Targeting UXS1‐Dependent Glucuronate Detoxification Potentiates Metformin's Anti‐Tumor Efficacy in Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that metformin promotes glucuronic acid metabolism in lung adenocarcinoma by activating UGDH S476 phosphorylation and enhancing the conversion of UDPG to UDPGA based on metabolomics analysis. Through compound virtual screening, it is found that plantainoside targeting UGDH downstream UXS1 leads to UDPGA toxicity accumulation ...

The Uppsala APP Mutation Promotes Wild‐Type Amyloid‐β Aggregation and Deposition In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigated in vivo cross‐seeding of amyloid‐β (Aβ) isoforms in transgenic mice co‐expressing wild‐typeAβ and the Uppsala‐mutant Aβ variant (AβUpp), lacking six central residues. Weleveraged MALDI‐MS imaging and hyperspectral microscopy to follow spatio‐temporalAβ deposition.

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.
