Solid Phase Formylation of N-Terminus Peptides

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
Formylation of amino groups is a critical reaction involved in several biological processes including post-translational modification of histones. The addition of a formyl group (CHO) to the N-terminal end of a peptide chain generates biologically active

Conformational photoswitching of a synthetic peptide foldamer bound within a phospholipid bilayer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The dynamic properties of foldamers, synthetic molecules that mimic folded biomolecules, have mainly been explored in free solution. We report on the design, synthesis, and conformational behavior of photoresponsive foldamers bound in a phospholipid ...

Preparation and characterization of renal cell peptides from fetal rats for their antitumor activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study aimed to prepare renal cells (RCs) from fetal rats which were digested by enzymes. Candidate peptides RCPs were characterized by capillary HPLC and MS and their bioactivity was predicted using peptideranker. The predicted top 10 bioactive peptides were synthesized.

Structural and functional characterization of chitinase from carnivorous plant Drosera adelae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A class I chitinase from the carnivorous plant Drosera adelae was expressed and purified using a yeast system, revealing high enzymatic activity. Structural analyses of the catalytic and chitin‐binding domains identified key tyrosine residues involved in substrate binding, offering insights into the enzyme's adaptation for insect digestion.

Sintesis Heptapeptida Linear (H-Tyr-Asp-Pro-Ala-Pro-Pro-Pro-Oh) dengan Menggunakan Dic/Oksima sebagai Reagen Pengkopling

open access: yesAl-Kimia, 2016
A tetrapeptide, an analog of  trypsin-modulating oostatic factor (TMOF), has been synthesised by using a method of solid-phase peptide synthesis on 2-chlorotrityl chloride resin. Fmoc strategy was applied on the synthesis.

Novel sulfur and selenium containing bis-α-amino acids from 4-hydroxyproline [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The synthesis of new substituted prolines carrying at C-4 a second α-amino acid residue is reported. The amino acid, l-cysteine or l-selenocysteine, is linked to the proline ring through the sulfur or the selenium atom, respectively.

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...
