Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The aim of the present study was to enhance the dissolution rate of an NSAID drug Ketoprofen by formulating it into solid dispersions with water soluble carrier Poloxamer 188 and Eudragit S 100. The solid dispersions of Ketoprofen with Poloxamer 188 were

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A review on solid dispersion: a modern formulation approach in drug delivery system
Drugs those are given as solid dosage form and having low solubility often have a lack of flexibility in drug formulation and administration. The dissolution rate could be the rate-limiting process in the absorption of a drug from a solid dosage form of ...

Supersaturated Isotretinoin: Scrutiny into Solid States Attributes
Background/Objectives: The formulation development of Isotretinoin (ISN) is limited by its solubility and stability issues. This study aimed to characterise the BCS class II drug ISN, particularly the possible different solid state and formulate ...

Acetosal is classified in the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS) class II (low solubility, high permeability). Low solubility causes a decreased dissolution rate. Polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) K-30 is an inert carrier easily soluble in water and

Edge waves and localisation in lattices containing tilted resonators
The paper presents the study of waves in a structured geometrically chiral solid. A special attention is given to the analysis of the Bloch-Floquet waves in a doubly periodic high-contrast lattice containing tilted resonators.

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Glucosamine HCl-based solid dispersions to enhance the biopharmaceutical properties of acyclovir [PDF]
The objective of the work presented here was to assess the feasibility of using glucosamine HCl as a solid-dispersion (SD) carrier to enhance the biopharmaceutical properties of a BCS class III/IV drug, acyclovir (ACV). The solid-dispersions of acyclovir

Discontinuous shear modulus determines the glass transition temperature
A solid - amorphous or crystalline - is defined by a finite shear modulus while a fluid lacks such. We thus experimentally investigate the elastic properties of a colloidal glass former near the glass transition: spectroscopy of vibrational excitations ...
