Automated Solid Phase Oligosaccharide Synthesis
Of the three classes of biopolymers—nucleic acids, proteins and glycoconjugates, nucleic acids and proteins have seen the most breakthroughs in understanding their biological role, in part due to their ready availability. The automation of oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis has been fruitful in providing biologists and biochemists with pure, well ...

An Inkjet‐Printed Platinum‐Based Temperature Sensing Element on Polyimide Substrates
An inkjet‐printed, meander‐structured, nanoparticle platinum‐based resistive temperature sensors on polyimide substrates are demonstrated as proof‐of‐concept. Optimized sintering at 250°C enables stable conductive structures. The Pt100‐ and Pt1000‐type sensors exhibit linear resistance–temperature characteristics with stable TCR in the 20°C–80°C range,

Synthesis of high-oxidation Y-Ba-Cu-O phases in superoxygenated thin films
It is known that solid-state reaction in high-pressure oxygen can stabilize high-oxidation phases of Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductors in powder form. We extend this superoxygenation concept of synthesis to thin films which, due to their large surface-to-volume ...

Challenges during Flash Lamp Annealing of Aerosol‐Deposited Barium Titanate Films
Aerosol deposition is used to rapidly deposit barium titanate films with thicknesses ranging from 2 to 16 μm at room temperature, eliminating the need for further densification. However, to recover the electromechanical properties, annealing is required, which limits the usage of temperature‐sensitive substrates.

Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...
