Cytochrome P450 Epoxygenase-Derived Epoxyeicosatrienoic Acids Contribute to Insulin Sensitivity in Mice and in Humans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Aims/hypothesis: Insulin resistance is frequently associated with hypertension and type 2 diabetes. The P450 arachidonic acid epoxygenases (CYP2C, CYP2J) and their epoxyeicosatrienoic acid (EET) products lower blood pressure and may also improve glucose ...

Plastid Engineering for Photosynthesis‐Driven Synthesis of Hyaluronic Acid in Tobacco

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a glycosaminoglycan composed of alternating units of N‐acetylglucosamine and glucuronic acid. High moisture retention, viscoelasticity and biocompatibility are unique features that make HA polymers attractive compounds for medical applications and aesthetic purposes.

2-(Piperidin-4-yl)acetamides as Potent Inhibitors of Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase with Anti-Inflammatory Activity

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2021
The pharmacological inhibition of soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) has been suggested as a potential therapy for the treatment of pain and inflammatory diseases through the stabilization of endogenous epoxyeicosatrienoic acids.

Peptidyl-urea based inhibitors of soluble epoxide hydrolases [PDF]

open access: yesBioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2006
We prepared a series of amino acid derived cyclohexyl and adamantyl ureas and tested them as inhibitors of the human soluble epoxide hydrolase, and obtained very potent compounds (K(I)=15nM) that are >10-fold more soluble than previously described sEH inhibitors.

EDHF: An update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The endothelium controls vascular tone not only by releasing NO and prostacyclin, but also by other pathways causing hyperpolarization of the underlying smooth muscle cells.

Nutritional and Health Potential of Edible Seeds: Micronutrient Bioavailability and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
Their bioactive constituents act through antioxidant, anti‐inflammatory, and metabolic‐regulating mechanisms, validating their classification as functional foods. Evidence from clinical and biochemical studies largely supports these benefits, although some claims stem from preliminary or in vitro findings.

Inhibition of Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase Limits Mitochondrial Damage and Preserves Function Following Ischemic Injury [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Aims: Myocardial ischemia can result in marked mitochondrial damage leading to cardiac dysfunction, as such identifying novel mechanisms to limit mitochondrial injury is important.

Synthesis and structure–activity relationships for some novel diflapolin derivatives with benzimidazole subunit

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry, 2022
A series of derivatives of the potent dual soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH)/5-lipoxygenase-activating protein (FLAP) inhibitor diflapolin was designed, synthesised, and characterised.
