Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.

Effect of Oxidized Soybean Oils on Oxidative Status and Intestinal Barrier Function in Broiler Chickens

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of oxidized soybean oils on the growth performance, metabolic oxidative status and intestinal barrier function of broiler chickens. A total of 240 one-day-old female broiler chickens were assigned to

Dietary Baicalin Supplementation Can Enhance the Growth Performance of Weaned Piglets and Maintain the Intestinal Barrier Integrity

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This research innovatively illustrates baicalin’s multifaceted mechanisms in enhancing piglets’ intestinal health: modulating bile acid metabolism via probiotics, reinforcing tight junction proteins (ZO‐1/claudin), suppressing TLR4/NF‐κB‐mediated inflammation, whereas promoting growth and reducing diarrhea.

Is soybean oil itself and acceptable diesel fuel?

open access: yes, 2004
The quality of vegetable oils as fuel is difficult to assess because of interferences between properties of the triacylglycerols, the main components, and those of the many minor components because their content may varies significantly from sample to ...

Reduction of Ribonucleotide Reductase Subunit RRM2 Potentially Impairs Gut Function of Woody Breast Broilers

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Woody breast compromises meat quality leading to reduced consumer appeal. Although its causes are unclear, improvements observed with certain dietary supplements suggest that gut health may influence woody breast development. Ribonucleotide reductase subunit RRM2 is vital for mitochondrial function and gastrointestinal integrity, and alteration in its ...

Evaluation of CLA production from soybean oil

open access: yes, 2004
Production of conjugated oil from linoleic acid rich oils has been described as early as 1930. Forty years later, conjugated linoleic acids, CLA, started to be regarded as potential anti-cancer and anti obesity agents related to, respectively, the cis-9 ...

Dietary Mannan‐Rich Fractions Attenuate Weaning Stress in Piglets via Modulating Gut Microbiota and TLR5/NF‐κB Signaling

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study aimed to investigate the potential of a mannan‐rich fraction (MRF) as a dietary intervention to alleviate weaning stress in piglets. Our results revealed that MRF could alleviate weaning stress by modulating the gut microbiota and the TLR5/NF‐κB signaling pathway, offering a novel and sustainable alternative to antibiotic use in swine ...
