Sphingobacterium yamdrokense sp. nov., isolated from Lake Yamdrok

Cells were Gram-negative and short-rod-shaped. Strain 3-0-1(T) formed circular, opaque, yellow colonies, and grew at 0-5% (w/v) NaCl, pH 5.0-11.0 and 5-35 °C. Sphingobacterium bovistauri sp. nov., Isolated from the Faeces of Bos Taurus
Current Microbiology, 2022A novel bacterium designated WQ 366 T was isolated from the faeces of Bos taurus, foraging on the slopes of the Baima Snow Mountain in Yunnan, China. The isolate grew optimally at 30 ℃ and pH 7.0-8.0 without NaCl. The cells were Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped, non-gliding, catalase-positive, and produced yellow color colonies on Columbia Agar.

The optimum medium composition is (g/L): Soytone 20, NaCl 1, K2HPO4 2.5, MgSO4 0.5, Heparin 2, Sucrose 15, pH 7.5. The optimum temperature for growth and enzyme production was 32 degrees C.
