Acidic extracellular pH is a common feature of tumor tissues. We have reported that culturing cells at acidic pH (5.4-6.5) induced matrix metalloproteinase-9 expression through phospholipase D, extracellular signal regulated kinase 1/2 and p38 mitogen ...

Abstract Background Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation (NBIA) is a heterogeneous group of heritable, mostly recessive, progressive neurodegenerative diseases characterized by iron deposition in the basal ganglia and brainstem. There are no solid global epidemiological data on prevalence and incidence of NBIA subtypes, but registry data and ...

Lack of costimulation by both sphingomyelinase and C2 ceramide in resting human T cells
Resting T cells require a signal transduced through their antigen-specific T-cell receptor (TCR) and an antigen-independent costimulatory signal in order to proliferate and become activated. Ligation of the CD28 receptor costimulates T-cell proliferation

Neutrophils are involved in numerous pathologies and are considered to be major contributors to the establishment of cutaneous loxoscelism after envenomation by the Loxosceles spider. Neutrophils are attracted to the site of envenomation by locally generated C5a and contribute to the tissue destruction.

Phospholipases-D (PLDs) found in Loxosceles spiders’ venoms are responsible for the dermonecrosis triggered by envenomation. PLDs can also induce other local and systemic effects, such as massive inflammatory response, edema, and hemolysis.

Advances in Radiotherapy for Neoadjuvant Therapy of Stage III Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer
This review summarizes three neoadjuvant radiotherapy techniques for stage III NSCLC, highlighting SFRT's low‐toxicity dual immune‐tumor control benefits and radioimmunotherapy's superior pathological response to guide precise multimodal treatment. ABSTRACT This review aims to systematically summarize the mechanisms of action, clinical evolution, and ...
