New Efficient D‐π‐A and A‐π‐A Structured Type I Radical Photoinitiators for Additive Manufacturing Nanomaterials Preparation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Groundbreaking advancements are discovered in 3D printing with new type‐I radical photoinitiators, including 1,1‐dimethoxy‐1‐phenylpropan‐2‐one. These innovative compounds, effective under visible light, enhance photopolymerization of acrylates and methacrylates, facilitating the creation of efficient nanocomposites and unlock the future of polymer ...

Polarization‐Dependent Color Modulation in Electrodeposited Cellulose Nanocrystals and Birefringent Multilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that wavelength selective reflection of circularly polarized light (CPL) of both handedness (right‐R or left‐L) can be achieved from self‐assembled cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), breaking the inherent limitation of obtaining only L‐CPL reflection.

Pericytes Promote More Vascularization than Stromal Cells via an Interleukin‐6‐Dependent Mechanism in Microfluidic Chips

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows how selected pericytes outperform stromal cells in promoting angiogenesis as well as vasculogenesis in a microfluidic organ‐on‐a‐chip platform and by whole mRNA sequencing. It demonstrates how pericyte extracellular vesicles, and more specifically interleukin‐6, mediate this angiogenic stimulation.

Targeting Replication Fork Processing Synergizes with PARP Inhibition to Potentiate Lethality in Homologous Recombination Proficient Ovarian Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the resveratrol analogue, trans‐4,4′‐dihydroxystilbene (DHS), exhibits synergistic anti‐tumor activity with the PARP inhibitor talazoparib, inducing significant ovarian cancer cell death. The synergistic effect of this combination arises from the concurrent downregulation of homologous recombination factors and the ...

High‐Speed 3D Printing Coupled with Machine Learning to Accelerate Alloy Development for Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work shows combining high‐throughput experiments of metal 3D printing with data science‐driven prediction leads to faster alloy development. Researchers develop steel alloy specimens specifically for 3D printing by adjusting aluminum content (0–10 wt.%) and energy input during printing.

Multifunctional Conductive Nanofibers for Self‐Powered Glucose Biosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work develops a novel self‐powered glucose biosensor using polycaprolactone/polypyrrole/graphene oxide (PCL/PPy/GO) nanofibers integrated with a triboelectric nanogenerator. The system achieves high glucose detection sensitivity and generates 63 V from motion, combining robust mechanical strength with eco‐friendly energy harvesting.

Outermost Cationic Surface Charge of Layer‐by‐Layer Films Prevents Endothelial Cells Migration for Cell Compartmentalization in Three‐Dimensional Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanometer‐sized artificial basement membrane (A‐BM) is developed to replicate the barrier functions of the basement membrane and prevent cell migration. It is demonstrated that the outermost cationic surface charge of nanofilms can effectively inhibit endothelial cell migration and sprouting, allowing for the construction of 3D patterned vascular ...

Injectable and Sprayable Thermoresponsive Hydrogel with Fouling‐Resistance as an Effective Barrier to Prevent Postoperative Cardiac Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Postoperative cardiac adhesions lead to numerous difficulties in reoperation procedures. Here, a thermo‐responsive in situ formed hydrogel is shown to can reliably cover the wounds after a convenient spraying or injection and significantly reduce adhesion formation in primary and recurrent cardiac injury adhesion models.

Optimization strategies and artifacts of time‐involved small‐angle neutron scattering experiments

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1603-1612, December 2022., 2022
This article reviews the opportunities and limitations of time‐involved small‐angle neutron scattering experiments, with the typical artifacts of the recorded data illustrated by virtue of the response of the skyrmion lattice in MnSi under periodic changes of the direction of the stabilizing field.Kinetic small‐angle neutron scattering provides access ...
