Rapid degradation of the mycotoxin patulin in man quantified by stable isotope dilution assays
Food Additives and Contaminants, 2003The absorption and degradation of the mycotoxin patulin in man was quantified by using a recently developed stable isotope dilution assay. Application of this currently most sensitive method revealed a patulin content less than 200 ng l(-1) in the blood serum of five consumers of apple juice.

After application of the tea, the metabolites 2‐hydroxy‐1,8‐cineole, 3‐hydroxy‐1,8‐cineole, 9‐hydroxy‐1,8‐cineole and, for the first time in humans, 7‐hydroxy‐1,8‐cineole were identified in plasma and urine of one volunteer.
