Synthesis of Deuterated γ-Lactones for Use in Stable Isotope Dilution Assays

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2004
Two syntheses of deuterated gamma-lactones for use as internal standards in stable isotope dilution assays (SIDA) were developed. [2,2,3,3-2H4]-gamma-Octa-, -gamma-deca-, and -gamma-dodecalactones with >89% deuterium incorporation were prepared in 27, 17, and 19% overall yields, respectively, by the reduction of a doubly protected hydroxypropiolic acid

A stable isotope dilution assay for the antiparkinsonian drug benztropine in biological fluids

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1981
A quantitative gas chromatographic-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) assay was developed for the determination of benztropine in human urine and plasma. The assay utilizes selected ion focusing to monitor in a GC effluent a specific fragment ion of benztropine generated by electron-impact ionization. Benztropine-d3 was the internal standard.

Development of Stable Isotope Dilution Assays for the Quantitation of Amadori Compounds in Foods

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2014
During thermal processing of foods, reducing carbohydrates and amino acids may form 1-amino-1-desoxyketoses named Amadori rearrangement products after the Italian chemist Mario Amadori. Although these compounds are transient intermediates of the Maillard reaction, they are often used as suitable markers to measure the extent of a thermal food ...

Quantification of Pantothenic Acid and Folates by Stable Isotope Dilution Assays

Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, 2002
Abstract Stable isotope dilution assays for the quantification of pantothenic acid and folates in foods by using four-fold labeled isotopomers of the vitamins as internal standards (IS) were developed. The use of labeled IS enabled to exactly correct losses during cleanup and derivatization.

Studies on accuracy of trichothecene multitoxin analysis using stable isotope dilution assays

Mycotoxin Research, 2007
Critical parameters in mycotoxin analysis were examined by using stable isotope-labelled tricho-thecenes. Sample weight was downsized to 1 g without loosing precision when sufficiently homogenized samples were taken for analysis. Complete extraction of trichothecenes could be achieved with a solvent mixture of acetonitrile+water (84+16; v+v) even ...

Stable Isotope Dilution Mass Spectrometric Assay for PRPP Using Enzymatic Procedures

Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic Acids, 2011
5-Phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate (PRPP) is an important regulator of de novo purine synthesis. A method for the measurement of PRPP in erythrocytes was designed, which is based on the determination of [(13)C(5)]glutamate derived from [(13)C(5)]glutamine following the utilization of PRPP by the action of amidophosphoribosyltransferase. The present study

A Stable Isotope Dilution Assay for the In Vivo Determination of Insulin Levels in Humans by Mass Spectrometry

Diabetes, 1997
Insulin levels in humans were measured by a new assay, the isotope dilution assay (IDA), based on stable isotope dilution mass spectrometry. A known amount of a deuterated analog of insulin was used as an internal standard and added to the serum samples before sample processing.

Development of Two Stable Isotope Dilution Assays for the Quantitation of Acrolein in Heat-Processed Fats

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2011
Two stable isotope dilution assays were developed for the quantitation of acrolein in fats and oils using [(13)C(3)]-acrolein as the internal standard. First, a direct GC-MS headspace method, followed by an indirect GC-MS method using derivatization with pentafluorophenyl hydrazine, was established.

Assay of Secoverine and Active Metabolites: Comparison of Stable Isotope Dilution with Receptor Binding Assay

1984
Secoverine (formula below) is a new gastro-intestinal muscle relaxant whose pharmacokinetics and disposition are currently being investigated in different animal species and man. The drug is administered as a racemate of which only the (+) enantiomer has pharmacological activity.

A stable isotope dilution assay for the quantification of the Pseudomonas quinolone signal in Pseudomonas aeruginosa cultures

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 2003
A stable isotope dilution method was developed to analyse 2-heptyl-3,4-dihydroxyquinoline, also called the Pseudomonas quinolone signal (PQS), directly in Pseudomonas aeruginosa cultures by liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (LC/MS).
