Investigating the Influence of Steric Hindrance on Selective Anion Transport [PDF]
A series of symmetrical and unsymmetrical alkyl tren based tris-thiourea anion transporters were synthesised and their anion binding and transport properties studied. Overall, increasing the steric bulk of the substituents resulted in improved chloride binding and transport abilities.

A Model for Granular Texture with Steric Exclusion [PDF]
We propose a new method to characterize the geometrical texture of a granular packing at the particle scale including the steric hindrance effect. This method is based on the assumption of a maximum disorder (entropy) compatible both with strain-induced ...

Bulky-yet-flexible carbene ligands and their use in palladium cross-coupling [PDF]
In recent years, several classes of new N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands were developed around the concept of flexible steric bulk. The steric hindrance of these ligands brings stability to the active species, while ligand flexibility still allows ...

STRIDER: Steric hindrance estimator [PDF]
Abstract In silico modeling plays a vital role in the de novo designing and docking of biomacromolecules as well as in exploring their conformational dynamics. Additionally, it has a major role in acquiring the structural insights from the parameters derived from ...

Scope and limitations of aliphatic Friedel-Crafts alkylations. Lewis acid catalyzed addition reactions of alkyl chlorides to carbon-carbon double bonds [PDF]
Lewis acid catalyzed addition reactions of alkyl halides 1 with unsaturated hydrocarbons 2 have been studied. 1:l addition products 3 are formed if the addends 1 dissociate faster than the corresponding products 3; otherwise, polymerization of 2 takes ...

Biochemical analysis of human Dna2 [PDF]
Yeast Dna2 helicase/nuclease is essential for DNA replication and assists FEN1 nuclease in processing a subset of Okazaki fragments that have long single-stranded 5' flaps. It is also involved in the maintenance of telomeres.

Stratification relieves constraints from steric hindrance in the generation of compact acto-myosin asters at the membrane cortex [PDF]
Recent in-vivo studies have revealed that several membrane proteins are driven to form nanoclusters by active contractile flows arising from F-actin and myosin at the cortex. The mechanism of clustering was shown to be arising from the dynamic patterning

Anisotropic Shock Sensitivity of Cyclotrimethylene Trinitramine (RDX) from Compress-and-Shear Reactive Dynamics [PDF]
We applied the compress-and-shear reactive dynamics (CS-RD) simulation model to study the anisotropic shock sensitivity of cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) crystals.
