Crystal structure of a short‐chain dehydrogenase from Burkholderia cenocepacia J2315 in complex with NADP+ and benzoic acid

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section F, Volume 80, Issue 12, Page 348-355, December 2024.
The structure of B. cenocepacia short‐chain dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR) in complex with NADP+ and benzoic acid is presented. Analysis of the structure reveals a distinctive active‐site architecture, suggesting that this protein is part of the divergent SDR subgroup.Burkholderia cenocepacia is an opportunistic human pathogen that can cause lethal ...

Machine‐Learning Analysis of Streptomyces coelicolor Transcriptomes Reveals a Transcription Regulatory Network Encompassing Biosynthetic Gene Clusters

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 41, November 6, 2024.
Streptomyces produces pharmaceutically important secondary metabolites. To harness their genetic potential with understanding transcriptional regulation, independent component analysis is conducted on 454 transcriptomic profiles of Streptomyces coelicolor, revealing 117 independently modulated groups of genes (iModulons).

Data of clavulanic acid and clavulanate-imidazole stability at low temperatures

open access: yesData in Brief, 2019
Clavulanic acid (CA) is a β-lactam antibiotic with a strong inhibitory effect on β-lactamase enzymes. CA is produced in submerged cultures by the filamentous Gram-positive bacterium Streptomyces clavuligerus (S. clavuligerus).

Efficient plasmid transformation of the beta-lactam producer Streptomyces clavuligerus [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1987
The conditions for optimal formation and regeneration of protoplasts of Streptomyces clavuligerus were established. The optimal temperature for regeneration of protoplasts and for transformation was 26 degrees C in three different regeneration media. The best efficiency of transformation was obtained with 40% polyethylene glycol 1000.

Enzymatic Synthesis of Diterpenoids from iso‐GGPP III: A Geranylgeranyl Diphosphate Analog with a Shifted Double Bond

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 30, Issue 8, February 7, 2024.
The geranylgeranyl diphosphate (GGPP) analog iso‐GGPP III with a shifted double bond was synthesized and enzymatically converted with six diterpene synthases. The main products were isolated from the often complex product mixtures and structurally characterized, revealing, in several cases, the formation of compounds with novel skeletons that can be ...

Increase of Clavulanic acid production by using recombinant Streptomyces clavuligerus strain including claR gene

open access: yesBiological Journal of Microorganism, 2014
Introduction : Clavulanic acid is a major β-lactam antibiotic which is produced by Streptomyces clavuligerus. Clavulanic acid is used in combination of strong but sensitive to β-lactamase antibiotics.

Morphology and viability analysis of Streptomyces clavuligerus in industrial cultivation systems [PDF]

open access: yesBioprocess and Biosystems Engineering, 2004
The effects of varying inoculum age and production scale upon the morphology and viability of Streptomyces clavuligerus were studied by analyzing visible and fluorescent light images acquired throughout pilot-plant and pre-industrial scale fermentations.
