Fidelity and level correlations in the transition from regularity to chaos

open access: yes, 2012
Mean fidelity amplitude and parametric energy--energy correlations are calculated exactly for a regular system, which is subject to a chaotic random perturbation.

SNP Miniplexes for Individual Identification of Random-Bred Domestic Cats. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of the cat can be obtained from single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) analyses of fur. This study developed miniplexes using SNPs with high discriminating power for random-bred domestic cats, focusing on ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Comparative analysis of haplotypes carrying pathogenic variants c.1545T>G, c.2027T>A and c.919-2A>G of the SLC26A4 gene in patients with hearing loss from the Tyva Republic (Southern Siberia)

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции
Pathogenic variants in the SLC26A4 gene (OMIM #605646), leading to non-syndromic recessive hearing loss type 4 (DFNB4) and Pendred syndrome, significantly contribute to the etiology of hearing loss in many populations of the world.

Tax competition as a cause of falling corporate income taxes. A literature survey. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Tax rates on capital income, corporate income tax rates in particular, have been declining in most industrialized countries since the mid 1980ies. Among the explanations for this development tax competition between countries for mobile capital has been ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Mutation Rates and Discriminating Power for 13 Rapidly-Mutating Y-STRs between Related and Unrelated Individuals.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Rapidly Mutating Y-STRs (RM Y-STRs) were recently introduced in forensics in order to increase the differentiation of Y-chromosomal profiles even in case of close relatives.

Multiple genetic analyses for Chinese Hunan Han population via 46 A-STRs

open access: yesAnnals of Human Biology, 2022
Background Short tandem repeats (STRs) are important as common genetic markers in forensic identification and population genetics due to their highly polymorphic nature.

DNA-Based Kinship Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Relatedness between individuals and groups can be investigated using DNA markers. A child’s DNA profile is a combination of alleles passed down from the father and mother.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
