Metabolic Regulation of Macrophages in Health and Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
Extracellular metabolites drive metabolic rewiring of glucose, lipid, and amino acid pathways in macrophages, steering their polarization toward pro‐ or anti‐inflammatory phenotypes and shaping a wide range of disease processes. Macrophages from different tissues display distinct metabolic signatures, and therapeutic strategies that target these ...

Macrophage: Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
Macrophages are sentinel innate immune cells that arise from embryonic precursors and bone marrow monocytes, displaying a functional continuum that transcends the classical M1 (pro‐inflammatory)/M2 (anti‐inflammatory) dichotomy. Under homeostatic conditions, balanced M1/M2 polarization preserves tissue integrity by coordinating immune surveillance ...

Embryonic Mediators of Embryo–Uterus Communication, Implantation and Pregnancy

open access: yesMolecular Reproduction and Development, Volume 93, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Successful reproduction in eutherian mammals requires intimate connections between the embryo and uterus, involving adhesion, attachment and placentation, with or without invasion of the endometrium. The complex dialogue between embryo and uterus involves numerous molecules and pathways.

Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Root Extract of Gomphrena vaga Mart.: Metabolomic Insights Into Nanoparticle Formation and Antimicrobial Activity

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
This study presents the green synthesis of ultrasmall silver nanoparticles using Gomphrena vaga Mart. root extract. The nanoparticles synthesized were stable and showed good broad‐spectrum antibacterial activity against Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria in initial studies.
