Enantioselective Synthesis of Sulfinamidines via Asymmetric Rhodium–Catalyzed Imidation of Sulfenamides

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
In this work, a catalytic enantioselective imidation approach is presented for the preparation of enantioenriched sulfinamidines from sulfenamides, employing a chiral dirhodium(II) tetracarboxylate catalyst. This method enables the imidation of N,N‐bisalkyl sulfenamides in yields of up to 98% and enantiomeric ratios up to 98:2, with a catalyst loading ...

Legionella pneumophila Carbonic Anhydrases: Underexplored Antibacterial Drug Targets

open access: yesPathogens, 2016
Carbonic anhydrases (CAs, EC 4.2.1.1) are metalloenzymes which catalyze the hydration of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate and protons. Many pathogenic bacteria encode such enzymes belonging to the α-, β-, and/or γ-CA families.

Isosteviol – A new scaffold for the synthesis of carbonic anhydrase II inhibitors

open access: yesResults in Chemistry
The diterpene isosteviol can easily be synthesized via hydrolysis from stevioside, a renewable resource adding particular utility to its potential for drug synthesis. Of late, there has been an increase in scientific studies focusing on inhibitors of the

Potential Impact of Childhood Abuse on Quality of Life During Mood‐Stabilising Treatment in Individuals Living With Bipolar Disorder

open access: yesBipolar Disorders, Volume 28, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background There is a lack of research examining whether childhood abuse affects the quality of life (QoL) of individuals living with bipolar disorder and its improvement over the course of treatment. Methods Data from the Clinical Health Outcomes Initiative in Comparative Effectiveness for Bipolar Disorder were used to explore the ...

Integrated In Silico, In Vivo, and Deep Learning Approaches in the Discovery of Novel Candidate Molecules for Aedes aegypti Control

open access: yesArchives of Insect Biochemistry and Physiology, Volume 121, Issue 2, February 2026.
An integrated computational/experimental workflow was used to identify new candidate molecules for Aedes aegypti control. Docking of 1,070 chalcones against mJHBP, followed by in vivo assays, identified 4′‐chloro‐4‐methoxychalcone (2c) as the most active larvicide candidate.

NH‐Sulfilimine Synthesis Catalyzed by Nonheme Iron(II) Complex

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 2, February 2026.
Sulfilimines are emerging as valuable functional group in modern medicinal chemistry. Yet, their catalytic preparation is underexplored compared to sulfoximines. Here, the iron‐catalyzed synthesis of 14 examples of unprotected sulfilimines in good yields, under aerobic atmosphere and at room temperature, is described.

Selective Wettability–Driven Evaporation‐Enhanced Redox Cycling for Robust and Ultrasensitive Detection of Viral Particles

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 4, 23 February 2026.
ABSTRACT Timely detection of viral infections, particularly in settings outside centralized laboratories, is essential for controlling outbreaks. Small electrochemical biosensors are appealing because they are fast, require microliter sample volumes, and can be integrated into portable devices.

Preparation and Antimicrobial Studies of Acyclic Sulfamates. [PDF]

open access: yesActa Chemica Scandinavica, 1999
A series of acyclic sulfamates have been prepared and tested for antimicrobial activity. Thus, the oxysulfonyl isocyanates, ROSO2NCO (1a, R = 4-methoxyphenyl; 1b, R = phenyl; 1c, R = 4-chlorophenyl and 1d, R = 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl) have been prepared in 76-91% yield from chlorosulfonyl isocyanate.
