Vinyl sulfones

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2008
Four neutral vinyl sulfones, two of which are paired with phosphonate groups, are described. The compounds are diisopropyl (2-phenylethenylsulfonylmethyl)phosphonate, C(15)H(23)O(5)PS, (I), diisopropyl {[2-(7-methoxy-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)ethenylsulfonyl]methylsulfonylmethyl}phosphonate, C(18)H(27)O(10)PS(2), (II), bis(trans-2-phenylethenyl) sulfone, C ...

Synthesis of nucleoside sulfonates and sulfones

Tetrahedron Letters, 1991
Abstract Sulfonate analogues of adenine, cytidine and guanine monophosphates have been synthesized for the first time. The synthesis of ribose 3-sulfonate, a synthesis of sulfonyl disaccharides and dinucleotides and an improved synthesis of a ribose 3-sulfone is also reported.

Synthesis of carbohydrate sulfonates and sulfonate esters

The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 1990

Amphiphilic perfluoroalkylated sulfones and sulfonate betaines

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 2007
Abstract Two types of perfluoro alkyl-containing amphiphilic sulfones 7 – 9 and 13 – 15 , respectively, and sulfonate betaines 23 – 32 were prepared using 2-[(perfluoroalkyl)methyl]oxiranes ( 1–3 , R F  = C 4 F 9 , C 6 F 13 , C 8 F 17 ) or 3-(perfluoroalkyl)propyl iodides ( 16 and 17 , R F  = C 6 F 13 , C 8 F 17 ) as the starting compounds ...

Spontaneous Oxidation of Aromatic Sulfones to Sulfonic Acids in Microdroplets

Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, 2022
Reactions in microdroplets can be accelerated and can present unique chemistry compared to reactions in bulk solution. Here, we report the accelerated oxidation of aromatic sulfones to sulfonic acids in microdroplets under ambient conditions without the addition of acid, base, or catalyst.

Aromatic sulfonation XI: Sulfonation of benzene and toluene with sulfur trioxide; sulfone formation and sulfonic acid isomer distribution.

Recueil des Travaux Chimiques des Pays-Bas, 1964
AbstractThe sulfonation of benzene and toluene with sulfur trioxide without solvent has been studied extensively. With benzene at low conversion benzenesulfonic acid and diphenylsulfone are the only products. At 25° the sulfone: sulfonic acid ratio changes from 0.2 to 0.6 on varying the SO3 : C6H6 ratio from 0.13 to 1.3.

The metabolism of the surfactants dodecyl sulfonate and hexadecyl sulfonate in the rat

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1978
Abstract When [1-14C]dodecyl sulfonate and [1-14C]hexadecyl sulfonate were administered orally and ip to free-ranging rats and iv to anesthetized rats, the major route of excretion of radioactivity was urinary. Small amounts only of parent surfactant appeared in the feces of animals dosed orally with [1-14C]dodecyl sulfonate, but large amounts of [1 ...

Dioxygen mediated hydroacylation of vinyl sulfonates and sulfones on water

Chem. Commun., 2010
Herein we report a mild, facile method for the preparation of 1,4-keto-sulfonates and sulfones on water. Further synthetic manipulations can result in products that are not readily accessed by hydroacylation of electron rich alkenes.

The polysulfonylamines bis(methylsulfonamido) sulfone and bis(trifluoromethylsulfonamido) sulfone

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2003
Bis(methylsulfonamido) sulfone, C(2)H(8)N(2)O(6)S(3) or SO(2)(NHSO(2)CH(3))(2), was synthesized from imidobis(sulfonyl chloride), HN(SO(2)Cl)(2), and bis(trimethylsilyl)methane, CH(2)[Si(CH(3))(3)](2), in chlorotrimethylsilane solution. In the solid state, there are two independent molecules linked by two N-H...O hydrogen bridges into infinite chains ...
