A combination of solid dispersion and surface adsorption techniques was used to enhance the dissolution of a poorly water-soluble drug, BAY 12-9566. In addition to dissolution enhancement, this method allows compression of the granulated dispersion into tablets. Gelucire 50/13 (polyglycolized glycerides) was used as the solid dispersion carrier.

An approach to obtaining the dispersion equation of surface acoustic waves (SAWs) on a stress-free, randomly rough surface of an anisotropic elastic medium is suggested. The problem is solved in the approximation of a weakly rough surface using Green's function technique. The dispersion and attenuation of sagitally and shear horizontally polarized SAWs

Application of Shereshefsky's equation for the determination of solid surface dispersion energy
Journal of the Chemical Society D: Chemical Communications, 1971A simple method for obtaining solid surface dispersion energies by measuring adsorption from solution and applying Shereshefsky's equation has been tested with experimental data from the literature on the adsorption of stearic acid from C6H6 solution on to mercury, iron, copper, and nickel giving results that compare favourably with those obtained by ...

A surface-immobilized model compound investigation of catalytic reactions in dispersed solids
Energy & Fuels, 1993Reactions of the silica-immobilized model compounds, ≃Ph(CH 2 ) n Ph(n = 1, 3, 4) and ≃PhCH 2 CH 2 OPh, with dispersed acid catalysts have been studied at 310-375 °C in the solid state. Reactions of these model compounds in the presence of a small particle size (15 nm) silica-1% alumina catalyst yield products typically expected for acid-catalyzed ...
