Seroprevalence of the novel swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus in China assessed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. [PDF]

open access: yesFront Cell Infect Microbiol
The endemic outbreak of SADS-CoV has resulted in economic losses and potentially threatened the safety of China’s pig industry. The molecular epidemiology of SADS-CoV in pig herds has been investigated in many provinces in China. However, there are no data over a long-time span, and there is a lack of extensive serological surveys to assess the ...

The Roles of Apoptosis in Swine Response to Viral Infection and Pathogenesis of Swine Enteropathogenic Coronaviruses

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2020
Apoptosis is a tightly regulated mechanism of cell death that plays important roles in various biological processes including biological evolution, multiple system development, anticancer, and viral infections. Swine enteropathogenic coronaviruses invade

Development of a TaqMan-probe-based multiplex real-time PCR for the simultaneous detection of emerging and reemerging swine coronaviruses

open access: yesVirulence, 2020
With the outbreak of the recent severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in 2019, coronaviruses have become a global research hotspot in the field of virology.

Gossypol Broadly Inhibits Coronaviruses by Targeting RNA‐Dependent RNA Polymerases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2022
Outbreaks of coronaviruses (CoVs), especially severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2), have posed serious threats to humans and animals, which urgently calls for effective broad‐spectrum antivirals. RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp)

Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV), a newly emerging enteric coronavirus in China, is associated with swine acute diarrhea syndrome (SADS), which has caused significant economic losses to the porcine industry.

Genetic characterization and phylogenetic analysis of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus in Guangdong, China, between 2018 and 2019.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), a leading cause of piglet diarrhea outbreaks, poses a significant danger to the swine industry. The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemic characteristics of PEDV that was circulating in Guangdong ...

Attenuation of a virulent swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus strain via cell culture passage. [PDF]

open access: yesVirology, 2019
Swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) is a newly identified enteric alphacoronavirus that causes fatal diarrhea in newborn piglets in China. Here, we propagated a virulent strain SADS-CoV/CN/GDWT/2017 in Vero cells for up to 83 passages. Four strains of SADS-CoV/GDWT-P7, -P18, -P48 and -P83 were isolated and characterized.
