Volatile Composition, Sensory Profile and Consumer Acceptability of HydroSOStainable Table Olives

open access: yesFoods, 2019
HydroSOStainable table olives (cultivar Manzanilla) are produced from olive trees grown under regulated deficit irrigation (RDI) strategies. Olives produced by RDI are known to have a higher content of some bioactive compounds (e.g.

Relationship between tree water status and physiology, yield, and fruit quality in the table olive (Olea europaea sativa L.) cultivar ‘Nocellara del Belice’

open access: yes, 2012
Although the olive (Olea europaea sativa l.) is considered a xerophytic species, long periods of water stress and high temperatures during summer months can greatly affect plant physiology and productivity.

Glomage: A Multimodal Platform for High‐Content Morphological and RNA Profiling of Glomeruli in Zebrafish and Mouse Models

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Understanding how glomeruli, the kidney's filtration units, function in intact tissue remains challenging. Glomage enables rapid 3D imaging and quantitative analysis of entire glomeruli from zebrafish larvae and mice. This approach allows scalable cell quantification and detection of structural changes, advancing kidney disease research and ...

Effect of table olive wastewaters on growth and yield of cucumber, pepper, tomato and strawberry

open access: yesScientia Horticulturae, 2019
The table olive factory generates a large amount of wastewaters and this is a big environmental problem. The aim of this study was to look for a solution of this issue, using table olive waste as irrigation water during the growth of four Mediterranean ...

WS2 Optoelectronic Memristive Reservoir Enabling Ultra‐Low‐Power, Multi‐Task, and Environmentally Stable Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
WS2‐based in‐memory sensing reservoir computing integrates sensing, memory, and computation in one compact device. It achieves ∼94% N‐MNIST, ∼93% eye motion perception, and ∼89% speech recognition with ultra‐low energy (∼25.5 fJ/spike). The system shows stability at 95% humidity, endurance over 1.5M cycles, and supports synaptic plasticity, enabling ...

Mechanically Adaptive Polyimide Interfaces for Stable High‐Voltage NCM–Sulfide All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A mechanically adaptive polyimide interface dynamically stabilizes single‐crystal cathodes in sulfide all‐solid‐state batteries. By integrating robust chemical coordination with viscoelastic compliance, this smart coating suppresses parasitic reactions and accommodates cyclic volume expansion.

Nucleic Acid Therapeutics for “Undruggable” Cancer Targets: Mechanisms, Challenges, and Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nucleic acid therapeutics bypass the structural limitations of conventional drugs by targeting mRNA rather than proteins. This review examines how antisense oligonucleotides, siRNAs, miRNAs, aptamers, and mRNA vaccines intervene against historically undruggable oncoproteins including Ras, MYC, and p53, highlighting mechanistic advances, delivery ...

Stiffness‐Activated Stellate Cells Drive Pancreatic Cancer Liver Colonization via GMFG‐TNS4 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibrotic liver stiffness activates hepatic stellate cells through Piezo1‐dependent calcium influx and ER stress, promoting EV‐associated GMFG release. Delivered GMFG engages TNS4 in pancreatic cancer cells, triggering FAK/AKT signaling, adhesion, and fatty acid synthesis.
