Tannic acid degradation by Klebsiella strains isolated from goat feces

open access: yesIranian Journal of Microbiology, 2016
Background and Objectives: Tannins are toxic polyphenols that either bind and precipitate or condense proteins. The high tannin content of some plants is the preliminary limitation of using them as a ruminant feed.

Sustainable Synthesis of Edge‐Dominant Pyridinic Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon from Tannic Acid for High‐Performance Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Graphitic carbon doped with an edge‐predominant pyridinic structure is synthesized using a sustainable, rapid microwave process. The material enhances vanadium redox reactions, improving energy efficiency and durability in VRFB electrodes, with a 94.12% discharge capacity retention over 1000 cycles.

Copper‐Based Conductive Nanoinks: Scalable Synthesis via Continuous‐Flow Microwave‐Assisted Polyol Process

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Microwave‐assisted polyol synthesis in continuous flow produces metallic Cu nanoparticles, using ethylene glycol as solvent and reducing agent, lignin to stabilize the colloid and prevent oxidation, and metal‐seeds for particle size control. Metallic copper nanoparticles are a promising alternative to gold and silver in printed electronics due to their

“Win‐Win” Structural Engineering of Chinese Herb Residues‐Derived Porous Graphitic Carbons: Decoupling the Porosity‐Graphitization Antagonism for Ultrahigh‐Rate Supercapacitors

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This work proposes a strategy that overcomes the porosity‐graphitization antagonism in carbon materials, converting Sargentodoxa cuneata residue into porous graphitic carbons to enable sustainable, high‐performance energy storage from biomass waste. The antagonism between porosity and graphitization critically limits carbon supercapacitor performance ...
