TBARS and Cardiovascular Disease in a Population-Based Sample

European Journal of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation, 2001
Oxygen radicals might play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including atherosclerosis. Thiobarbituric acid reaction substances (TBARS), a biomarker of oxidative stress, have been proposed as a summary measure of total circulating oxidation.

Ammonia potentiates methylmalonic acid-induced convulsions and TBARS production

Experimental Neurology, 2003
Hyperammonemia is a common finding in children with methylmalonic acidemia, an inherited metabolic disease characterized by mental retardation, convulsions, and accumulation of methylmalonic acid (MMA). Although it has been suggested that MMA induces convulsions through succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) inhibition, very little is known about the ...

Interference of sodium caseinate in the TBARS assay

Food Chemistry, 2011
One of the most common methods of measuring lipid oxidation in foods is the quantification of malonaldehyde by reaction with 2-thiobarbituric acid (TBA) in the so called TBA-reactive substances (TBARS) assay. Different variants of the TBARS assay include those in which the food sample reacts directly with the TBA reagent and those that involve ...

Combined analysis of Z' -> t tbar and Z' -> t tbar j production for vector resonance searches at LHC

2009
We have implemented a code for Z' + n jets production in ALPGEN, with Z' decays into several final states, including l+ l- and t tbar. The MLM prescription is used for matching the matrix element with the parton shower, including in this way the leading soft and collinear corrections.

TBARS predictive models of pork sausages stored at different temperatures

Meat Science, 2014
2-Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) is an important quality index for pork sausages. To study this in pork sausages during storage, kinetic models were developed to predict TBARS content changes of pork sausages at different temperatures.
