Adaptive Genetic Variation in Black‐and‐White Snub‐Nosed Monkeys (Rhinopithecus bieti): Low Diversity and the Role of Balancing Selection

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
We investigated the adaptive genetic diversity within a population of Rhinopithecus bieti using amplicon sequencing. From 47 individuals, we identified 16 MHC class I sequences, revealing a low level of adaptive genetic variation. Although evidence for balancing selection, including positive selection and trans‐species polymorphism, was observed, these

Non‐cognate CD8 Binding to MHC I Promotes Positive Selection of an MHC‐E Restricted CD8 T Cell Population

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 3, March 2026.
Mouse Qa1b‐restricted T cells show promiscuous requirements for positive selection. Using in vivo tetramer enrichment, in vitro APC engineering, and in vitro thymocyte stimulation, we demonstrate that a Qa1b‐restricted T cell population can be selected by both Qa1b and H2‐T11, and depends on non‐cognate CD8‐MHC I binding.

Body composition predicts poor outcomes and reveals immunometabolic dysfunction via single‐cell profiling in anti‐BCMA CAR T‐treated myeloma

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy has transformed the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM), yet outcomes remain heterogenous. The prognostic role of body composition in this context is unknown. We retrospectively analyzed 108 RRMM patients treated with anti‐B‐cell maturation antigen (BCMA) CAR T‐cell therapy.

New Perspective: Bench to Bedside Evidence of the Role of CD8+ T Cells in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Emerging evidence highlights a previously underappreciated role of CD8+ T cells in Alzheimer's disease (AD). Beyond amyloid‐β and tau pathology, CD8+ T‐cell subsets infiltrate the central nervous system and exhibit functional heterogeneity. Cytotoxic effector CD8+ T cells may exacerbate neuroinflammation and neuronal injury, whereas regulatory or ...
