Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Effects of location and year on technological quality and pentosan content in rye

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2009
Four year trials were undertaken to study the milling and baking rye quality, the hybrid variety Picasso and population varieties Dankowskie nowe and Selgo having been examined coming from three different locations of the Czech Republic.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Effect of Fused Filament Fabrication Parameters on Selected Indicators for Assessing Technological Quality of Shaped Models

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Despite many studies, implementation of the additive manufacturing process in industrial and research practice is limited due to the numerous distortions affecting the obtained dependencies to a degree that is difficult to predict. No uniform methodology

THE OLD GENOTYPES OF WHEAT, THE SOURCE OF IMPORTANT QUALITATIVE CHARACTERISTICS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2002
Technological quality of 35 chosen genotypes of wheat was analysed during two years. The genotypes included 4 standards (Astella, Ilona, Samanta, Šárka) and the old European Land varietes of wheat. A large amount of various genetic material was evaluated

The effect of organic and conventional growing systems on quality and storage protein composition of winter wheat

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2007
Protein composition of the grain storage proteins (evaluation using electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel - the SDS-PAGE method) and selected parameters of bread-making quality in a set of 6 winter wheat varieties from organic and conventional growing in

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Technological characteristics of newly developed mutant common winter wheat lines

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2004
Fifteen hybrid-mutant lines and two direct mutant lines were studied in terms to their technological quality in 2000 and 2001 vegetation years. The hybrid-mutant lines were produced using chemical mutagen sodium azide at a concentration of 1mM on F2 ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
