A Programmable Nanoreactor Orchestrates Cascade of DNA Sensing to Amplify cGAS‐STING Activation for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A programmable nanoreactor was engineered for precise cGAS‐STING pathway activation in cancer immunotherapy. This strategy bridges targeted tumor DNA damage with DC immunomodulation, providing a translatable platform to unlock innate and adaptive antitumor immunity.

Telomerase Inhibitors from Natural Products and Their Anticancer Potential

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences, 2017
Telomeres and telomerase are nowadays exploring traits on targets for anticancer therapy. Telomerase is a unique reverse transcriptase enzyme, considered as a primary factor in almost all cancer cells, which is mainly responsible to regulate the telomere

Telomere DNA G-quadruplex folding within actively extending human telomerase

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2018
Significance Telomeres protect the ends of linear chromosomes from illicit DNA processing events that threaten genome stability. Guanine-rich telomere DNA repeat sequences are protected by telomere-binding proteins, and are also prone to fold into ...

Intelligent Thermo‐Self‐Limited Magnetothermia with Heat‐Triggered TERT Silencing for Precision Synergetic Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) mRNA induces DNA self‐assembly in cancer cells, boosting the nanoplatform's magnetothermal properties. This magnetothermia then activates the Hsp70 promoter, initiating siRNA synthesis to silence the TERT gene, enhancing cancer treatment.

Treating Cancer by Targeting Telomeres and Telomerase

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2017
Telomerase is expressed in more than 85% of cancer cells. Tumor cells with metastatic potential may have a high telomerase activity, allowing cells to escape from the inhibition of cell proliferation due to shortened telomeres. Human telomerase primarily

Telomere Length of Peripheral Blood Leukocytes Predicts Disease Severity and Worse Survival in Systemic Sclerosis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Peripheral blood leukocyte telomere length (PBL‐TL) shortening is associated with systemic sclerosis–related interstitial lung disease (SSc‐ILD). However, its association with other organ involvement, disease severity, and survival remains unclear.

Transcriptional Regulation of Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase (TERT) by MYC

open access: yesFront. Cell Dev. Biol., 2017
Telomerase elongates telomeres and is crucial for maintaining genomic stability. While stem cells and cancer cells display high telomerase activity, normal somatic cells lack telomerase activity primarily due to transcriptional repression of telomerase ...

Intracellular self‐assembled nanoneedles for efficient lysosomal escape and CRISPR/Cas9 mediated gene editing

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
PlaMnB was formed by cytolysin A‐tumor homing peptides (THP)‐modified bacterial membranes encapsulating the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat/CRISPR‐associated protein (CRISPR/Cas9) plasmid and manganese dioxide. THP‐containing bacterial membrane enhances PlaMnB vascular permeability and tumor targeting, and after cellular ...

Rh‐Catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] Cycloaddition of Linked Bis(Diynes) Ar‐C≡C‐C≡C‐(CH2)3‐C≡C‐C≡C‐Ar With Quinones: Synthesis and Photophysical Properties of Bis(Arylethynyl)‐Naphthoquinones and Anthraquinones

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We report the synthesis bis(arylethynyl)naphtho‐ and anthraquinones via Rh(I)‐catalyzed [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddition reactions. The substrate scope of both quinones and linked bis‐diynes was explored. Microwave irradiation remarkably enhanced yields.
