(2‐Phosphinophenyl)aluminum Dichloride Complexes as Intramolecular Al/P Frustrated Lewis Pairs for Ketone, Ester, and Imine Activation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Three 2‐phosphinophenylaluminum dichloride complexes were synthesized and characterized as novel intramolecular FLPs. These FLP systems exhibit high Lewis acidity and effectively activate challenging substrates including aliphatic ketones, imines, and esters. DFT analysis revealed that strain release and Al–P dynamics govern their reactivity. Abstract (

Is THC-COOH a Useful Determinant for Passive Inhalation in Oral Fluid THC Testing? [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Toxicology, 2012
To the Editor: Many studies have demonstrated that passive exposure to marijuana smoke can lead to detectable concentrations of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in oral fluid (OF) (1 –3). It is reasonable to assume that subjects breathing air heavily laden with THC will absorb some of the drug.

Lewis‐Acidic Properties and Catalytic Behavior of Hydroboration‐ and Diolysis‐Derived NHC‐Stabilized Borenium Cations

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A series of thirteen (N‐heterocyclic carbene) NHC‐stabilized borenium cations is synthesized from NHC→BH3 complexes via hydroboration and condensation with diols. The novel compounds are fully characterized. Eight crystal structures are presented. Kinetic and NMR data show how the structural features translate to catalytic activity in hydrosilylation ...

Recreational Drug Use at a Music Festival: A Dual Approach Using Hair Biomarkers Analysis and Participant Self‐Reported Drug Use

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Combined self‐report and hair analysis in festival attendees (n = 249) revealed substantial discrepancies in drug use reporting, particularly for stimulants and dissociatives. This integrated approach enhances detection of poly‐drug use and provides a more reliable basis for monitoring and harm‐reduction strategies.

Pharmacokinetics and Tolerability of Δ9-THC-Hemisuccinate in a Suppository Formulation as an Alternative to Capsules for the Systemic Delivery of Δ9-THC

open access: yesMedical Cannabis and Cannabinoids, 2018
The objectives of this study were: (1) to assess the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of ascending doses of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol-hemisuccinate (THC-HS) after rectal administration as suppositories in male volunteers; and (2) to ...
