The Effect of CYP1A2 Gene Polymorphisms on Caffeine Pharmacokinetics and Exercise Performance in Male Recreational Athletes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 26, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examined the effects of caffeine consumption on endurance exercise performance, and the influence of CYP1A2 gene polymorphisms in caffeine pharmacokinetics and exercise performance. The data sets of two randomised, double blind, placebo‐controlled crossover study design experiments have been merged.

Toxicity of aqueous extracts of Ilex paraguariensis A.St.‐Hil. about Euphorbia heterophylla L.

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6196-6206, July 2026.
Aqueous extracts of Ilex paraguariensis A.St.‐Hil. strongly inhibit Euphorbia heterophylla L. germination and early seedling growth, but show mild phytotoxicity on mature plants, paradoxically promoting biomass via antioxidants. Abstract BACKGROUND The escalating challenge of herbicide‐resistant weeds, exemplified by Euphorbia heterophylla L.

Association of dietary intake of theobromine with periodontitis: NHANES 2009–2014

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Background Theobromine intake usually comes from coffee, tea, and cocoa foods. Related studies have shown that theobromine is a bioactive molecule with anti-inflammatory, antithrombotic, anti-fat, and other effects.

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Structurally Varied 5′-/6′-Isonucleosides and Theobromine-Containing N-Isonucleosidyl Derivatives

open access: yesPharmaceuticals, 2019
Isonucleosides are rather stable regioisomeric analogs of nucleosides with broad therapeutic potential. We have previously demonstrated the ability of 5′ and 6′-isonucleosides to inhibit the activity of acetylcholinesterase, a major target ...

Experimental and Theoretical Studies on Theobromine and Theobromine-Water Complexes [PDF]

open access: yesAfyon Kocatepe University Journal of Sciences and Engineering, 2018
In this study, the solvent effects on structural, spectroscopic, electronic and thermochemical properties of Theobromine (tbH) were theoretically investigated. The dichloromethane (DCM), dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and water (H2O) solvents have been chosen for investigations.

Production of Instant Linden Tea (Tilia spp.) Powder: Integrating Compound‐Level Infusion Kinetics With Response Surface‐Optimized Spray Drying

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Linden tea infusion kinetics were optimized at 80°C for 45 min to maximize flavonoid extraction. Optimal spray‐drying conditions (170°C, 10 mL/min, 10% maltodextrin) were determined using a Box‐Behnken design, yielding an instant powder with excellent solubility and preserved phenolic profile.

Graphene Oxide: A Smart (Starting) Material for Natural Methylxanthines Adsorption and Detection

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Natural methylxanthines, caffeine, theophylline and theobromine, are widespread biologically active alkaloids in human nutrition, found mainly in beverages (coffee, tea, cocoa, energy drinks, etc.). Their detection is thus of extreme importance, and many
