Towards using NMR to screen for spoiled tomatoes stored in 1,000 L, aseptically sealed, metal-lined totes. [PDF]
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is used to track factory relevant tomato paste spoilage. It was found that spoilage in tomato paste test samples leads to longer spin lattice relaxation times T1 using a conventional low magnetic field NMR ...

Salinity Assay in Tomato [PDF]
Tomato is one of the most important horticultural crops worldwide, and is cultivated in semi-arid regions in which soil and groundwater salinity is an increasing limitation to yield. The assessment of the responses of new cultivars to salt and the comparisons among cultivars and wild species are of great interest in tomato breeding.

Geometry-Based Grasping of Vine Tomatoes [PDF]
We propose a geometry-based grasping method for vine tomatoes. It relies on a computer-vision pipeline to identify the required geometric features of the tomatoes and of the truss stem. The grasping method then uses a geometric model of the robotic hand and the truss to determine a suitable grasping location on the stem.

Effects of High-Level Acylsugar-Producing Tomato Lines on the Development of Tomato Psyllids (Hemiptera: Triozidae). [PDF]
Acylsugars have been shown to provide activity against numerous insect pests of tomatoes. Comparison of acylsugar levels in four tomato plant lines, FA7/AS, FA2/AS, CU071026, and 'Yellow Pear', found that the acylsugar contents in the elevated acylsugar ...

TomatoDIFF: On-plant Tomato Segmentation with Denoising Diffusion Models [PDF]
Artificial intelligence applications enable farmers to optimize crop growth and production while reducing costs and environmental impact. Computer vision-based algorithms in particular, are commonly used for fruit segmentation, enabling in-depth analysis of the harvest quality and accurate yield estimation. In this paper, we propose TomatoDIFF, a novel

Surface modification using mussel‐derived polydopamine (PDA) is a versatile and robust biocompatible strategy that enables direct application to various epidermal surfaces, regardless of their morphological complexity or surface characteristics. The PDA‐coated epidermis exhibits multiple anti‐biofouling functionalities, including antibacterial and anti‐
