Unravelling polyphenol skin permeation: A comparative study using full‐thickness 3D in vitro and ex vivo human skin models

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that full‐thickness 3D in vitro skin models reliably assess the permeation of cosmetic polyphenols, revealing compound‐specific transport profiles and bridging the gap between conventional cell models and ex vivo human skin, while offering an ethical and robust alternative for dermal absorption screening. Abstract The evaluation

Strategies to Improve Transdermal Permeation

open access: yes
In pharmaceutical new technology, transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS) have made a fascinating research topic and are one of the most commonly manufactured pharmaceutical products in the global market. These systems can overcome the associated disadvantages of other delivery routes, such as oral and parenteral.

Fish Scales: A Multifunctional Biomaterial from Nature

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 5, September 2026.
Fish scales demonstrate nature's solution to impact protection through overlapping multilayered architecture. This biological design combines mineralized surfaces with collagen networks to achieve both flexibility and fracture resistance. The structural principles inspire advanced protective materials and biomedical implants, where damage tolerance ...

Combining electroacupuncture and transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation for psychiatric disorders in women victims of domestic violence: An assessor‐blinded, randomised controlled trial

open access: yesGeneral Psychiatry, Volume 39, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Women victims of domestic violence often present with psychiatric disorders and may benefit from nonpharmacological interventions. Acupoint stimulation therapy may be an effective approach. Aims To examine whether a combination of electroacupuncture (EA) and transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) can alleviate ...
