An Electrochemical Transdermal Patch for Permeation Enhancement
2017A novel electrochemical patch is described that works by the hydrolysis of water in a hydrogel between two suitable electrodes that produces a strongly enhanced drug flux through the skin. This non-iontophoretic mechanism requires only a short voltage application (60 s) yet produces enhanced skin permeation over up to 5 h.

Transdermal delivery of naloxone: ex vivo permeation studies
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 1999The purpose of this investigation was to study the feasibility of transdermal drug delivery of the potent opioid antagonist naloxone. The pharmacokinetic profile of naloxone makes it a suitable candidate for transdermal delivery. Ex vivo permeation of naloxone through excised rat skin was studied using a diffusion cell.
