Electret Enhances Transdermal Drug Permeation
Electrets are polymeric discs that carry semi permanent electrostatic charge. These provide electrostatic potentials in the range of 500 to 3,000 V. In the current work, the effect of electret exposure on the skin permeability was investigated. Transdermal transport studies were carried out across porcine epidermis in Franz diffusion cells.

Influence of the Component Excipients on the Quality and Functionality of a Transdermal Film Formulation [PDF]
The influence of formulation variables, i.e., a hydrophilic polymer (Methocel® E15) and a film-forming polymer (Eudragit® RL 100 and Eudragit® RS 100), on the physicochemical and functional properties of a transdermal film formulation was assessed ...

N-Alkylmorpholines: Potent Dermal and Transdermal Skin Permeation Enhancers [PDF]
Transdermal drug delivery is an attractive non-invasive method offering numerous advantages over the conventional routes of administration. The main obstacle to drug transport is, however, the powerful skin barrier that needs to be modulated, for example, by transdermal permeation enhancers.

A Note on the Trandermal Delivery of Clenbuterol [PDF]
A modified diffusion/compartmental model has been used to simulate the transdermal uptake of clenbuterol from a matrix-type delivery device. The application of a fresh device every 7 days was found to produce a pseudo-steady state drug plasma profile ...

Permeation enhancer strategies in transdermal drug delivery
Today, ∼74% of drugs are taken orally and are not found to be as effective as desired. To improve such characteristics, transdermal drug delivery was brought to existence. This delivery system is capable of transporting the drug or macromolecules painlessly through skin into the blood circulation at fixed rate.
