Autonomous AI‐Driven Design for Skin Product Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This review presents a comprehensive closed‐loop framework for autonomous skin product formulation design. By integrating artificial intelligence‐driven experiment selection with automated multi‐tiered assays, the approach shifts development from trial‐and‐error to intelligent optimisation.

Transdermal Delivery of Nicardipine: An Approach to In Vitro Permeation Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2002
Nicardipine hydrochloride (NC-HCl), a calcium channel blocker for the treatment of chronic stable angina and hypertension, seems to be a potential therapeutic transdermal system candidate, mainly due to its low dose, short half-life, and high first-pass metabolism.

Nanostructured Deep Eutectic Systems in Healthcare: From Bioactive Solvents to Intelligent Biointerfaces, Wearables, and AI‐Driven Design

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Beyond the green solvent paradigm, this review redefines Deep Eutectic Systems (DES) as programmable supramolecular nanoassemblies. We survey their biomedical convergence: stabilizing thermolabile mRNA to enable cold chain‐free logistics, reshaping transdermal microneedle delivery, enabling long‐term wearables via eutectogels, and utilizing Generative ...

Development of Novel Formulations to Enhance in Vivo Transdermal Permeation of Tocopherol

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica, 2014
Tocopherol represents a big challenge for transdermal permeation owing to its extreme hydrophobicity and large molecular mass. The aim of the present study was to develop alpha-tocopherol (T) topical formulations and evaluate their ex vivo and in vivo ...

Effect of Ultrasound on Transdermal Permeation of Diclofenac

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inflammation, 2006
During the last two decades the effects of ultrasound on the transdermal permeability to a wide variety of drugs have been extensively investigated. There is still some uncertainty regarding the mechanisms involved in ultrasonic permeation enhancement, thus we investigated the effect of ultrasonic treatment on the transdermal permeation of the NSAID ...

Design Considerations for Polymer–Deep Eutectic Solvent Hybrid Systems for Transdermal Drug Delivery

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) act as tunable, green excipients that modulate polymer structure–property relationships to enhance drug solubility, skin permeation, stability, and controlled release. Through hydrogen‐bond interactions, DES–polymer hybrid systems enable improved transdermal performance, offering a rational, design‐driven platform for ...

Microemulsion as a vehicle for transdermal permeation of nimesulide

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2006
Topical microemulsions of nimesulide, a poorly water-soluble nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug, using olive oil as oil phase and Tween 80/iso-octanol as surfactant/co-surfactant were designed. Various concentrations of surfactant: co-surfactant (2:1, 3:1, 4:1) were used in constructing a pseudoternary phase diagram.

Poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) microsphere loaded dissolving microneedles for sustained and coordinated transdermal delivery of desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, EarlyView.
PLGA‐based sustained‐release microneedles were developed for the delivery of desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol. The system enabled coordinated release of both drugs, suggesting its potential to improve dosing convenience as a long‐acting contraceptive platform.
