Transglycosylation of engineered cyclodextrin glucanotransferases as O-glycoligases

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2014
An O-glycoligase is a hydrolytically impaired mutant of a retaining α-glycosidase in which the catalytic acid/base has been removed, but which can still perform transglycosylation when incubated with activated glycosyl fluoride donor sugars. In this paper, we describe another example, wherein a cyclodextrin glucanotransferase mutant (CGT-E284A) with an

Transglycosylation Activity of Endoglycoceramidase from Corynebacterium sp

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1993
Endoglycoceramidase (EGCase) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the linkage between oligosaccharides and ceramides of various glycosphingolipids (GSLs). We found that the EGCase from Corynebacterium sp. had transglycosylation activity. Digesting GSLs with the enzyme in the presence of a suitable acceptor gave a mixture of hydrolytic and transglycosylic ...

Endo‐α‐Mannosidase‐Catalyzed Transglycosylation

ChemBioChem, 2017
AbstractIn order for facilitating the synthesis of oligosaccharides, transglycosylation reactions mediated by glycoside hydrolases have been studied in various contexts. In this study, we examined the transglycosylating activity of a Golgi endo‐α‐mannosidase.

Enzymatic transglycosylation of PEG brushes by β-galactosidase

Chemical Communications, 2012
Enzymatic transglycosylation has been successfully implemented by β-galactosidase (β-Gal) on PEG brushes. Kinetic parameters validate this kind of chemoenzymatic strategy which is promising for construction of biomimetic surfaces with glycocalyx-like structures.

Inhibition of Transglycosylation Involved in Bacterial Peptidoglycan Synthesis

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2000
The continuing specter of resistance to antimicrobial agents has driven a sustained search for new agents that possess activity on drug resistant bacteria. Although several paths are available to reach this goal, the most generalized would be the discovery and clinical development of an agent that acts on a new target which has not yet experienced ...

Transglycosylation of β-D-RIbofuranosylindazoles

Nucleosides and Nucleotides, 1995
Abstract Irreversible, acid-catalyzed 2 → 1 transglycosylation reactions of fully acetylated β-D-ribofuranosylindazoles were studied applying HPLC analysis. Results so obtained support the intermolecular mechanism of transglycosylation via a 1, 2-diglycosylindazole intermediate and are compared to those of the purine series.
