Variation in enzymatic transient gene expression assays
Analytical Biochemistry, 1989We examined causes for high variability in data from enzymatic transient gene expression assays. Our results strongly suggest that variation in transfection efficiency is the major cause of data variation and can seriously compromise valid interpretation of data.

Transient Gene Expression in Human Expi293 Cells
2022Transient gene expression (TGE) is an important tool for generating recombinant proteins in a short period of time. The human cell line HEK293 is widely used for this purpose since it can grow in suspension to a high cell density in serum-free media.

Rapid reprogramming of globin gene expression in transient heterokaryons
Cell, 1986Interspecific heterokaryons were formed by fusing adult mouse erythroleukemia (MEL) cells and human embryonic/fetal erythroid (K562) cells with each other, or with a variety of mouse and human nonerythroid cell types. Analysis of total cellular RNA isolated 24 hr after fusion revealed that normally inactive globin genes can be activated in these ...

Transient Gene Expression of Chimeric Genes in Cells and Tissues of Crops
1991The recent progress in understanding plant biology at the molecular level has been due, in part, to the development of efficient gene transfer systems for many plant species. Without doubt, the most efficient way to transfer genes to crops is with Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Fraley et al.

Transient Gene Expression in Suspension HEK293-EBNA1 Cells
2018Transient gene expression in human embryo kidney 293 (HEK293) cells is an established approach for the rapid production of large amounts of recombinant proteins (r-proteins). Milligram to gram quantities of r-proteins can be typically obtained within less than 10 days following transfection. In this chapter, we describe a simple and robust transfection

Transient gene expression in electroporated Picea glauca protoplasts
Plant Cell Reports, 1988The reporter gene for chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) was introduced into white spruce (Picea glauca (Moench) Voss.) protoplasts by electroporation. CAT transient gene expression was increased by increasing the concentration of pCaMVCN plasmid and was affected by the level of the applied voltage.

The Physcomitrella patens System for Transient Gene Expression Assays
2016Transient expression assays are valuable techniques to study in vivo the transcriptional regulation of gene expression. These methods allow to assess the transcriptional properties of a given transcription factor (TF) or a complex of regulatory proteins against specific DNA motifs, called cis-regulatory elements.

Intron-dependent transient expression of the maize GapA1 gene
Plant Molecular Biology, 1995Transient expression experiments show that the maize GapA1 promoter exhibits a requirement for sequences contained within intron 1 and surrounding exon border regions for expression in maize Black Mexican Sweet cells. Maize GapA1-promoter constructs lacking intron 1 are inactive. Intron 1 and its exon border sequences, when reintroduced into constructs

Ubiquitin gene expression following transient forebrain ischemia
Molecular Brain Research, 1996Ubiquitin gene expression following transient forebrain ischemia in the rat was analyzed by three probes which were specific for UbC, UbB and UbS30 mRNA. According to the in situ hybridization studies, each type of ubiquitin gene expression decreased at 30 min of reperfusion following 20 min of forebrain ischemia, thereafter increased, and then reached
