On Context-Tree Prediction of Individual Sequences [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2007
Motivated by the evident success of context-tree based methods in lossless data compression, we explore, in this paper, methods of the same spirit in universal prediction of individual sequences. By context-tree prediction, we refer to a family of prediction schemes, where at each time instant $t$, after having observed all outcomes of the data ...

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

The complete chloroplast genome sequence of Pseudoroegneria libanotica, genomic features, and phylogenetic relationship with Triticeae species

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2018
Pseudoroegneria libanotica is an important herbage diploid species possessing the St genome. The St genome participates in the formation of nine perennial genera in Triticeae (Poaceae). The whole chloroplast (cp) genome of P.

Single nucleotide polymorphisms from Theobroma cacao expressed sequence tags associated with witches' broom disease in cacao [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In order to increase the efficiency of cacao tree resistance to witches¿ broom disease, which is caused by Moniliophthora perniciosa (Tricholomataceae), we looked for molecular markers that could help in the selection of resistant cacao genotypes.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

S_T_Mamba: A Novel Jinnan Calf Diarrhea Behavior Recognition Model Based on Sequence Tree Mamba

open access: yesAnimals
The efficient and precise recognition of diarrhea-related behaviors in Jinnan calves is crucial for ensuring their healthy development. Nevertheless, conventional behavior recognition techniques are often limited by a notable decline in performance when ...

Characteristic Quantity Analysis of Single-Phase Contact Tree Ground Fault of Distribution Network Overhead Lines

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
When the overhead line passes through the forest area, the conductor may contact the line to induce the tree-contact single-phase-to-ground fault (TSF), and the persistence of TSF may induce wildfires, bringing serious consequences.
