Complement is known to play a role in alcoholic fatty liver disease (AFLD), but the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood, thereby constraining the development of a rational approach for therapeutic intervention in the complement system.

The prevalence of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is increasing annually. Damage to and loss of podocytes occur early in DKD. tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs), originating from tRNA precursors or mature tRNAs, are associated with various illnesses.

Serum tRNA-derived fragments as potential biomarkers in children with acute intussusception
Introduction Pediatric intussusception is one of the most common causes of bowel obstruction in the pediatric population. Affected children have one section of the intestine sliding into the adjacent section.

A label‐free impedimetric biosensor based on electroactive 3D porous graphene foam enables ultrasensitive and selective detection of CD81 protein and MCF‐7 cell‐derived extracellular vesicles in human serum. Detection limits of 0.048 fg/mL for CD81 and ∼24 EVs/mL are achieved, demonstrating a robust platform for selective, label‐free, and ...

Plasma exosomal tRNA‐derived fragments as diagnostic biomarkers in non-small cell lung cancer
BackgroundtRNA derived small RNAs (tRFs) have recently received extensive attention; however, the effects of tRFs in exosome as biomarkers has been less studied.

Ubiquilin (UBQLN), like many other human proteins, contains both well‐folded and disordered regions. Here, we show that intramolecular interactions between disordered regions and folded domains modulate between open and closed topologies of UBQLN proteins, altering their structure and function.

Transposable Element–Driven PIEZO Mutation Enhances Locust Flight in Plateau Hypoxia
Why transposable elements (TEs) persisted or expanded in genomes remains a mystery. Using integrated analysis of TE macro‐ and microevolution in locusts, our results showed that thousands of TE insertions promoted widespread adaptive variation. Subfamilies of candidate adaptive TEs amplified and reshaped species‐level genomic architecture.
