Effect of Intraoperative Active Warming Initiated at Anesthesia Induction on Core Temperature, Postoperative Pain and Agitation in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: Inadvertent perioperative hypothermia is a common and clinically significant complication during laparoscopic surgery, leading to pain, agitation, shivering, and delayed recovery.

A resveratrol derivative modulates TRH and TRH‐like peptide expression throughout the brain and peripheral tissues of male rats

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, 2022
Introduction Resveratrol and related polyphenols have therapeutic effects ranging from treatment of depression, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, obesity, diabetes, neurodegeneration and ageing. TRH and TRH‐like peptides, with the structure pGlu‐X‐Pro‐

An intermediate framework between WIMP, FIMP, and EWIP dark matter

open access: yes, 2011
WIMP (Weakly Interacting Massive Particle), FIMP (Feebly interacting Massive Particle) and EWIP (Extremely Weakly Interacting Particle) dark matter are different theoretical frameworks that have been postulated to explain the dark matter.

Engineering a Sonotherapeutic RBC Membrane‐Derived Nanoparticle Platform for the Treatment of Liver Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, an RBC membrane‐derived nanoparticle (CMN‐ICG) is engineered to efficiently deliver a sonosensitizing agent, indocyanine green (ICG), for sonotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CMN‐ICG exhibits excellent cytocompatibility, significantly enhances hepatocyte uptake, and produces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon ultrasound ...

Triple-dose bolus versus continuous infusion of tranexamic acid: impacts on clinical outcomes in isolated coronary artery bypass surgery

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Background In cardiac surgery, intraoperative tranexamic acid (TXA) is commonly used and highly recommended approach for managing perioperative bleeding. Nevertheless, a standardized dose and administration protocol remains undefined. This study compares

TrxR2 Lactylation Facilitates Mitochondrial Protection and Endothelial Ferroptosis Resistance in Diabetic Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TrxR2 deletion in diabetic mice suppresses TUFM‐AMPK‐FUNDC1‐dependent mitophagy in endothelial cells, resulting in SCP2 upregulation and mitochondrial translocation of ACSL4. Mitochondrial ACSL4 promotes mitochondrial eicosanoid biosynthesis and ferroptosis, thereby aggravating cardiac microvascular injury and diabetic cardiomyopathy.

The G alpha q and G alpha 11 proteins couple the thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptor to phospholipase C in GH3 rat pituitary cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Thyrotropin-releasing hormone stimulates the hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) in GH3 cell membranes. The stimulation of the phosphoinositide phospholipase C (PI/PLC) activity can be blocked by incubation of GH3 membranes with ...

m5C‐Modified tRF3b‐CysGCA‐23 Suppresses Bladder Cancer Malignancy by Repressing H3K18 Lactylation via Stabilizing RBM4

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we identified an NSUN6‐dependent m5C‐modified tsRNA, m5C‐tRF3b CysGCA‐23 (mtRC), that is downregulated in BC and inversely correlated with disease progression. Mechanistically, mtRC suppresses BC malignancy by stabilizing RBM4, attenuating glycolysis, and thereby limiting H3K18 lactylation–mediated activation of IL1RAP and VASH2 ...
