From senescence and inflammaging to systemic comorbidities: Drivers of aging‐associated periodontitis

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Aging is accompanied by a chronic low‐grade inflammatory process, known as inflammaging, as well as immunosenescence, an age‐related decline and dysregulation of immune function, and cellular senescence, a process in which cells enter a state of irreversible growth arrest while actively releasing pro‐inflammatory factors.

Histiocytes: Multifaceted Regulators of Health and Disease

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The mononuclear phagocyte system encompasses macrophages, dendritic cells (DCs), and monocytes. Tissue‐resident macrophages and dendritic cells arise during embryogenesis and are replenished either through self‐renewal or by monocytes during inflammation.

On the Cauchy–Rassias stability of the Trif functional equation in C∗-algebras

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2004
Let \(A\) and \(B\) be two unital \(C^*\)-algebras and let \(q:=k(n-1)/(n-k)\) for given integers \(k, n\) with \(2\leq k\leq n-1\). By an almost unital mapping we mean a mapping \(h:A\to B\) with the property that \({\lim_{j\to\infty}}q^jh(q^{-j}e)\) is invertible where \(e\) is the unit of \(A\).

A mechanism for trif adaptor-biased signaling by toll-like receptor 4. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Host cells respond to bacterial lipid A through Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). Activation of TLR4 by lipid A triggers a response that involves two main adaptor proteins, MyD88 and TRIF.

Bacterial Diseases in Farmed Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus): A Review of Pathogenesis, Immune Responses and Recent Advances in Diagnostics and Management

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 5, October 2026.
Pathogenesis of bacterial diseases in Nile tilapia and anti‐bacterial mechanisms. ABSTRACT Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is among the most widely farmed fish globally that plays a major role in ensuring food security in many low‐ and middle‐income countries.

A Critical Role for the TLR4/TRIF Pathway in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Rejection by Innate Immune Cells

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2013
We show for the first time that signaling through the TLR4/TRIF pathway plays a critical role in allogeneic bone marrow cell (BMC) rejection. This appears to be unique to BMCs as organ allografts are rejected mainly via MyD88 signaling.

Maternal and Postnatal Effects of Poly I:C‐Induced Intrauterine Inflammation and Rytvela, a Non‐Competitive IL‐1R Antagonist, in the Pregnant Spiny Mouse

open access: yesDevelopmental Neurobiology, Volume 86, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Maternal infection‐induced inflammation during pregnancy is associated with adverse neurodevelopment. Rytvela, an allosteric IL‐1 receptor antagonist, reduces IL‐1β‐mediated pathology in fetal rodents and sheep. However, its effects on TLR3‐mediated inflammation and subsequent offspring growth and behavior remain unclear. Using precocial spiny

Herpes simplex virus type 2 infection triggers AP-1 transcription activity through TLR4 signaling in genital epithelial cells

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2018
Background The pattern recognition receptors (PPRs) are the earliest phase of the host defense against pathogens in genital epithelium, and toll-like receptors (TLRs) are best characterized PPRs mediating innate immune responses.

Locating Power in a Cross‐Sectoral Health Promotion Collaboration Addressing HIV and Hepatitis C

open access: yesHealth Promotion Journal of Australia, Volume 37, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Issue Addressed Power is central to understanding how health promotion networks and collaborations function. Power underpins the relational connectivity, yet its complexity renders it difficult to define. This study explores how power is understood within a health promotion network addressing HIV and Hepatitis C in Victoria, Australia ...

The NLRP3-Caspase 1 Inflammasome Negatively Regulates Autophagy via TLR4-TRIF in Prion Peptide-Infected Microglia

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2018
Prion diseases are neurodegenerative disorders characterized by the accumulation of misfolded prion protein, spongiform changes in the brain, and brain inflammation as a result of the wide-spread activation of microglia.
