Background: The measurement of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) is widely used in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Although existing cTnI detection methods measure total cTnI, the significance of undegraded full-size-cTnI levels is still not ...

A deployable, chip‐integrated approach to the detection of heart attack biomarkers is demonstrated using silicon photonic microring resonators combined with microfluidics. By applying the Pound–Drever–Hall frequency locking technique, sensor signals are measured with improved signal‐to‐noise ratio, applying this to real‐time, selective readouts.

The calcium sensitizer drug MCI-154 binds the structural C-terminal domain of cardiac troponin C
The compound MCI-154 was previously shown to increase the calcium sensitivity of cardiac muscle contraction. Using solution NMR spectroscopy, we demonstrate that MCI-154 interacts with the calcium-sensing subunit of the cardiac troponin complex, cardiac ...

Most of the current docking procedures are focused on fine conformational adjustments of assembled complexes and fail to reproduce large-scale protein motion. In this paper, we test a new modeling approach developed to address this problem.

EBBP expression is significantly upregulated in DOX‐treated cardiomyocytes. Mechanistically, EBBP interacts with GRP78 to mediate K63‐linked ubiquitination, thereby attenuating the inhibitory GRP78‐PERK interaction and triggering activation of the PERK‐mediated integrated stress response (ISR).

Label‐Free Single‐Molecule Immunoassay
Label‐free single‐molecule immunoassay (LFSMiA) enables ultra‐sensitive and wide dynamic range protein detection in whole blood samples. LFSMiA features real‐time single‐molecule imaging by plasmonic scattering microscopy, background reduction by a 2‐step sandwich assay, minimizing matrix effect by dynamic tracking of single binding events, and ...

Rapamycin alleviates heart failure via TFEB and CaMKII pathways in Syntaxin 12/13 deficient models. Stx12 deficiency causes heart failure via impaired iron trafficking to mitochondria, reducing respiratory complexes and sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+‐ATPase (SERCA).

Filament compliance influences cooperative activation of thin filaments and the dynamics of force production in skeletal muscle. [PDF]
Striated muscle contraction is a highly cooperative process initiated by Ca²⁺ binding to the troponin complex, which leads to tropomyosin movement and myosin cross-bridge (XB) formation along thin filaments. Experimental and computational studies suggest
