Predictors of Trough Serum Gentamicin Concentrations in Neonates
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1989Neonates admitted to an intensive care nursery frequently receive gentamicin sulfate therapy. This study was undertaken to determine predictors of an elevated (greater than or equal to 2 mg/L) trough serum concentration of gentamicin sulfate (undesirable because of potential toxic effects).

Low vancomycin trough concentration in neonates and young infants
Pediatrics International, 2021AbstractBackgroundVancomycin (VCM) is useful for treating methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus. In infants, calibrating the initial VCM dose is difficult, and many regimens have been proposed. For instance, our center uses the VCM regimen recommended for infants in the 2012–13 Nelson's Pediatric Antimicrobial Therapy. Nonetheless, our experience

Optical properties of V-trough concentrators
Solar Energy, 1991Abstract A new approach to study the optical behavior of V-trough concentrators is developed, based on the use of three characteristic angles defining the appearance, disappearance and return to the outside space of the cavity of a reflection mode. The probability of occurrence of a given number of reflections for beam radiation is determined as a ...

V-troughs with high concentration ratios for photovoltaic concentrator cells
Solar Cells, 1988Abstract V-troughs made of plane mirrors are used as solar concentrators with high concentration ratios assuming a normal incidence angle of solar radiation. Because of its uniform illumination, this type of concentrator is found to be suitable for photovoltaic concentrator cells.

Circadian Variation in Steady-State Trough Theophylline Concentrations
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, 1986The temporal variation in trough (i.e., predose) theophylline concentrations at steady state was examined. In general, adult subjects dosed with solid theophylline formulations have morning trough theophylline concentrations 10-16% greater than corresponding evening troughs; this morning-to-evening drop is statistically significant.

Increasing Vancomycin Serum Trough Concentrations and Incidence of Nephrotoxicity
The American Journal of Medicine, 2010conflicting evidence regarding the association of vancomycin serum concentrations with efficacy and toxicity has resulted in controversy regarding optimal target concentrations. Recent publications recommend attaining higher vancomycin trough concentrations of 15 to 20 mg/L for target infections, yet limited research is available assessing the ...

Failure of Traditional Trough Levels to Predict Tacrolimus Concentrations
Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, 2001The objective of this study was to estimate tacrolimus population parameter values and to evaluate the ability of the maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) Bayesian fitting procedure to predict tacrolimus blood levels, using the traditional strategy of monitoring only trough levels, for dosage individualization in liver transplant patients.

Optics of a two-trough solar concentrator
Solar Energy, 1996A linear focusing solar concentrator is described that uses two reflecting troughs, one is a large, stationary hemi-cylinder and the other is small and tracks the sun. The small reflector weighs less than a parabolic trough with the same concentrator aperture therefore diurnal steering is more feasible.

Neural Network Predicted Peak and Trough Gentamicin Concentrations
Pharmaceutical Research, 1995Predictions of steady state peak and trough serum gentamicin concentrations were compared between a traditional population kinetic method using the computer program NONMEM to an empirical approach using neural networks. Predictions were made in 111 patients with peak concentrations between 2.5 and 6.0 micrograms/ml using the patient factors age, height,
