Upregulated TRPC3 and downregulated TRPC1 channel expression during hypertension is associated with increased vascular contractility in rat

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2011
Transient receptor potential C1 and C3 (TRPC1 and TRPC3) are expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells and are thought to be involved in vascular contractility.

Orai and TRPC channel characterization in FcεRI-mediated calcium signaling and mediator secretion in human mast cells. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Inappropriate activation of mast cells via the FcεRI receptor leads to the release of inflammatory mediators and symptoms of allergic disease. Calcium influx is a critical regulator of mast cell signaling and is required for exocytosis of preformed ...

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy for Mild‐to‐Moderate Knee Osteoarthritis: A Double‐Blind, Randomized, Placebo‐Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Current treatments for knee osteoarthritis (OA) offer limited functional and structural improvements. Compared to age‐ and gender‐matched controls, patients with knee OA show a higher prevalence of muscle weakness, which negatively affects their ability to exercise—a key factor in enhancing physical mobility and delaying disease ...

Abnormal expression, localization and interaction of canonical transient receptor potential ion channels in human breast cancer cell lines and tissues: a potential target for breast cancer diagnosis and therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background Ca2+ is known to be involved in a number of metastatic processes including motility and proliferation which can result in store-depletion of Ca2+.

Mechanical Environment Afforded by Engineered Hydrogel Critically Regulates Survival of Neural Stem Cells Transplanted in the Injured Spinal Cord via Piezo1‐Mediated Mechanotransduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, 14 January 2026.
Neural stem cell transplantation shows promise for spinal cord repair, but poor graft survival limits therapeutic efficacy. This study demonstrates that increasing hydrogel stiffness from 10% to 16% concentration significantly enhances transplanted neural stem cell survival through Piezo1‐mediated mechanotransduction, revealing mechanical properties as

Morphine Tolerance Gated through EZH2‐Mediated Suppression of Trpc5 in Spinal GABAergic Interneurons in Male Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 1, 5 January 2026.
Chronic morphine suppresses Trpc5 in spinal GABAergic interneurons via EZH2‐mediated histone modification, reducing Ca2+ influx and GABA release. TRPC5 activation enhances morphine analgesia, while EZH2 inhibition restores efficacy and reverses tolerance.

Identification of an N-terminal glycogen synthase kinase 3 phosphorylation site which regulates the functional localisation of polycystin-2 in vivo and in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
PKD2 is mutated in 15% of patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Polycystin-2 (PC2), the PKD2 protein, is a nonselective Ca2 + -permeable cation channel which may function at the cell surface and ER. Nevertheless, the factors

Upregulation of TRPC1 Contributes to Contractile Function in Isoproterenol-induced Hypertrophic Myocardium of Rat

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2013
Aims: The transient receptor potential canonical channel 1 (TRPC1) is a crucial component of the stretch-activated ion channels (SACs). The objective of this research was to demonstrate the contribution of TRPC1 in maintaining cardiac contractile ...
