Relative bioavailability of delamanid 50 mg tablets dispersed in water in healthy adult volunteers
Aim Delamanid is a novel drug for the treatment of drug‐resistant tuberculosis, manufactured as 50‐mg solid and 25‐mg dispersible tablets. We evaluated the effects of dispersing the 50‐mg tablet, focusing on the relative bioavailability. Methods Delamanid, 50‐mg tablets administered dispersed vs swallowed whole, was investigated in a phase I, four ...

Singularity and Symmetry Analyses for Tuberculosis Epidemics [PDF]
We analyse the model of Tuberculosis due to Blower (Nature Medecine 1(8) 815-821) from the point of view of symmetry and singularity analysis. From the study we provide a demonstration of the integrability of the model to present an explicit solution.

Antibiotic‐induced dysbiosis of the gut microbiota shifts host tryptophan metabolism and impairs the innate immune response during Pseudomonas aeruginosa pulmonary infection. (A) Eubiosis: During eubiosis, the intestinal microbiota metabolises tryptophan into indole metabolites, which keeps tryptophan levels within normal serum concentrations. However,

Gromomycins represent a novel class of pentacyclic triterpene antibiotics with a unique biosynthetic pathway independent of the squalene route. These compounds exhibit potent activity against drug‐resistant Gram‐positive pathogens, including MRSA, and their unprecedented cyclization mechanism provides new insight into bacterial triterpene biosynthesis.

A Data Mining Approach to the Diagnosis of Tuberculosis by Cascading Clustering and Classification [PDF]
In this paper, a methodology for the automated detection and classification of Tuberculosis(TB) is presented. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by mycobacterium which spreads through the air and attacks low immune bodies easily. Our methodology is based on clustering and classification that classifies TB into two categories, Pulmonary Tuberculosis(PTB ...

Multi‐drug resistance and compensatory mutations in Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Vietnam
Abstract Background Vietnam is a hotspot for the emergence and spread of multidrug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This study aimed to perform a retrospective study on the compensatory evolution in multidrug‐resistant M. tuberculosis strains and the association with drug‐resistant mutations and M. tuberculosis genotypes.
