In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Effect of job satisfaction on turnover intention: an empirical investigation on Nigerian banking industry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Extant literature revealed that job satisfaction has negative effect on employee turnover intention. Despite loss of job satisfaction and high turnover intention among many bank employees in Nigeria very little attention was devoted to examining the ...

Related factors of turnover intention among general practitioners: a cross-sectional study in 6 provinces of China

open access: yesBMC Primary Care
Background Turnover among general practitioners (GPs) is an issue of growing concern. Therefore, identification of the variables which associated with GPs’ decision in staying in or leaving their employer institutions is necessary.

Cancer cell‐intrinsic type 1 interferon: production, signaling, and outcomes within sex‐biased, female malignancies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cell‐autonomous roles of interferon type 1 vary based on duration and intensity. While acute, robust signaling results in cancer cell cytotoxic effects, sustained, low‐level signaling is associated with tumor‐promoting effects. This review summarizes current research of IFN‐1 in cancer and within the clinical setting, with an emphasis on female ...

Measuring Push, Pull And Personal Factors Affecting Turnover Intention: A Case Of University Teachers In Pakistan [PDF]

open access: yes
It has been observed that professional and qualified teacher’s retention become a challenge for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Pakistan as the turnover rate has been significantly increased in recent years. The main objective of this paper is to

Explaining turnover intention

open access: yes
Introduction Leaders are important in organizational success because they influence workers’ attitudes and behaviors [1,2]. The Leadership Efficacy Model (LEM) is a recent theoretical proposal focusing on factors that increase leadership efficacy[3]. According to the LEM, three leadership factors can explain the efficacy of leadership.

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,
