Interlaboratory comparison of phosphatidylethanol in dried blood spots using different sampling devices

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
In this article, we present the results of three rounds of interlaboratory comparison conducted in 2022 and 2023 for phosphatidylethanol (PEth) in authentic fresh blood samples using different types of microsampling devices. More than 20 laboratories from Europe and the US participated, and 73% quantified and reported all 12 samples covering a range ...

Towards the convergent therapeutic potential of G protein‐coupled receptors in autism spectrum disorders

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are diagnosed in 1/100 children worldwide, based on two core symptoms: deficits in social interaction and communication, and stereotyped behaviours. G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) are the largest family of cell‐surface receptors that transduce extracellular signals to convergent intracellular signalling ...

Cancer therapy‐related cardiotoxicity is associated with distinct alterations of the myocardial lipidome

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Lipidome changes in anthracycline‐induced cardiotoxicity (AIC). Aims Anthracyclines are key components of various chemotherapy regimens, but their clinical utility is limited by severe cardiotoxic side effects. Previous studies have suggested that anthracycline‐induced cardiotoxicity (AIC) may be driven by alterations in myocardial lipid metabolism ...

Gαq signalling from endosomes: A new conundrum

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract G‐protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) constitute the largest family of membrane receptors, and are involved in the transmission of a variety of extracellular stimuli such as hormones, neurotransmitters, light and odorants into intracellular responses.

Harnessing Jasminum Bioactive Compounds: Updated Insights for Therapeutic and Food Preservation Innovations

open access: yesFood Frontiers, EarlyView.
Jasminum bioactives improve food preservation by providing antimicrobial and antioxidant effects, especially when incorporated into active packaging, edible films, and nanoformulations that enhance stability and controlled release. They also offer many pharmacological benefits, including anti‐inflammatory, neuroprotective, and wound‐healing properties.

Vector fields on $\mathfrak{osp}_{2m|2n}(\mathbb C)$- and $π\mathfrak{sp}_{n}(\mathbb C)$-flag supermanifolds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
The paper is devoted to a computation of the Lie superalgebras of holomorphic vector fields on isotropic flag supermanifolds of maximal type corresponding to the Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{osp}_{2m|2n}(\mathbb C)$ and $\pi\mathfrak{sp}_{n}(\mathbb C)$.

A Second Type of Rat Phosphoinositide-specific Phospholipase C Containing a src-related Sequence Not Essential for Phosphoinositide-hydrolyzing Activity

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1989
A fourth type of rat phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PLC IV) has been cloned for cDNA and sequenced. PLC IV is distinct from the other three types of rat PLC (PLC I, II, and III) with respect to primary structure and tissue distribution of its mRNAs.

Bioprospection of rattlesnake venom peptide fractions with anti-adipose and anti-insulin resistance activity in vitro

open access: yesToxicon: X
Animal venoms are natural products that have served as a source of novel molecules that have inspired novel drugs for several diseases, including for metabolic diseases such as type-2 diabetes and obesity. From venoms, toxins such as exendin-4 (Heloderma

Invariant Means [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 270(2002), 499-518., 2000
Let m(a,b) and M(a,b,c) be symmetric means. We say that M is type 1 invariant with respect to m if M(m(a,c),m(a,b),m(b,c)) = M(a,b,c) for all a, b, c > 0. If m is strict and isotone, then we show that there exists a unique M which is type 1 invariant with respect to m.
