Isolation of cDNAs encoding typical and novel types of phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C from the moss Physcomitrella patens [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of Experimental Botany, 2004
Two cDNAs encoding proteins, PpPLC1 and PpPLC2, with catalytic and C2 domains conserved in plant phosphoinositide-specific phospholipase C (PI-PLC) were isolated from Physcomitrella patens. The N domain, which has been identified in Arabidopsis PI-PLCs as an EF hand-like domain, was found in both isoforms, although that in PpPLC2 was a split type.

G Protein β Subunit Types Differentially Interact with a Muscarinic Receptor but Not Adenylyl Cyclase Type II or Phospholipase C-β2/3 [PDF]

open access: hybridJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2001
In comparison with the alpha subunit of G proteins, the role of the beta subunit in signaling is less well understood. During the regulation of effectors by the betagamma complex, it is known that the beta subunit contacts effectors directly, whereas the role of the beta subunit is undefined in receptor-G protein interaction.

Phylogenetic analysis of phospholipase C genes from Clostridium perfringens types A to E and Clostridium novyi [PDF]

open access: greenJournal of Bacteriology, 1995
The phylogenetic interrelationships between strains of 5 toxin types (A to E) of Clostridium perfringens were examined by analysis of differences in the nucleotide sequences of phospholipase C genes (plc genes) among 10 strains, including 3 strains for which the plc gene sequences have been previously reported.

Inhibition of glucose 6-phosphatase by pure and impure C-type phospholipases. Reactivation by phospholipid dispersions and protection by serum albumin [PDF]

open access: greenBiochemical Journal, 1975
1. Pure or impure C-type phospholipases hydrolysed rat liver microsomal phosphatides in situ at 5 degrees or 37 degrees C. At 5 degrees C mean hydrolysis of total phospholipids was 90% by Bacillus cereus and 75% by Clostridium perfringens (Clostridium ...

Formation of Phospholipase C and Theta-haemolysin in Pre-reduced Media in Batch and Continuous Culture of Clostridium perfringens Type A [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of General Microbiology, 1974
SUMMARY: Clostridium perfringens type A (atcc13124) was grown in bottles (static culture) and in fermenters (batch and continuous culture) in a proteose peptone medium supplemented with phosphate, cysteine, vitamins and different carbohydrates. The lag phase was shorter and the growth rate higher when the medium was pre-reduced.

Phenotypes of Pain Behavior in Phospholipase C-Related but Catalytically Inactive Protein Type 1 Knockout Mice [PDF]

open access: greenMolecular Pain, 2011
Phospholipase C-related inactive protein (PRIP) plays important roles in trafficking to the plasma membrane of GABAA receptor, which is involved in the dominant inhibitory neurotransmission in the spinal cord and plays an important role in nociceptive transmission. However, the role of PRIP in pain sensation remains unknown.

Production of Phospholipase C (Alpha-toxin), Haemolysins and Lethal Toxins by Clostridium perfringens Types A to D [PDF]

open access: bronzeJournal of General Microbiology, 1976
To obtain high yields of extracellular enzymes and toxins for immunological analysis, type culture collection strains of Clostridium perfringens types A to D and 28 fresh isolates of C. perfringens type A from humans were grown in fermenters under controlled conditions in a pre-reduced proteose peptone medium.

Dynamic Role of Phospholipases A2 in Health and Diseases in the Central Nervous System

open access: yesCells, 2021
Phospholipids are major components in the lipid bilayer of cell membranes. These molecules are comprised of two acyl or alkyl groups and different phospho-base groups linked to the glycerol backbone.

Cloning of the Human Phospholipase C-γ1 Promoter and Identification of a DR6-type Vitamin D-responsive Element [PDF]

open access: hybridJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1997
The 5'-flanking region of the human phospholipase C-gamma1 gene was isolated from a human P1 genomic DNA library. The S1-nuclease mapping and primer extension analysis revealed that there is a single transcriptional start site located at 135 bases upstream from the translation start codon in the human phospholipase C-gamma1 gene.
