Tyrosinase inhibitors as melanoma sensitizers: Boosting therapeutic efficacy

open access: yesSupramolecular Materials
Melanoma therapy faces critical challenges due to melanin-mediated resistance mechanisms. The use of tyrosinase inhibitors to suppress tyrosinase activity and reduce melanogenesis, thereby sensitizing melanoma cells, represents a highly promising ...

Biochemical Properties of Tyrosinase from Aspergillus terreus and Penicillium copticola; Undecanoic Acid from Aspergillus flavus, an Endophyte of Moringa oleifera, Is a Novel Potent Tyrosinase Inhibitor

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
Tyrosinase is a copper-containing monooxygenase catalyzing the O-hydroxylation of tyrosine to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine then to dopaquinone that is profoundly involved in melanin synthesis in eukaryotes.

Inhibitory Effects of Caulerpa racemosa, Ulva intestinalis, and Lobophora challengeriae on Tyrosinase Activity and α-MSH-Induced Melanogenesis in B16F10 Melanoma Cells

open access: yesLife, 2023
Melanogenesis involves a synthesis of melanin pigment and is regulated by tyrosinase. The addition of whitening agents with tyrosinase-inhibiting properties in cosmetics is becoming increasingly important.

TYROSINASE AND PLANT RESPIRATION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Physiology, 1943
The evidence presented in this paper supports the conclusion that at least 85 per cent of the oxygen uptake of the respiring tissue of potato tuber enters the chemistry of the cell by way of a tyrosinase-catalyzed oxidation. The qualitative aspects of this conclusion are in agreement with the claim made by Boswell and Whiting.
