The Great Bustard (Otis tarda) and Common Crane (Grus grus) Utilize Food Resources via Gut Microbiota Remodeling During Wintering in the Yellow River Wetlands in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, China

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study detected the diet and gut microbiota of great bustards and common cranes in the wintering duration in the Yellow River Wetlands of Inner Mongolia using high‐throughput sequencing technology. This study indirectly indicated that great bustards and common cranes are well‐adapted to the environment of the Yellow River Wetlands during the ...

GC–MS‐Based Metabolomic Insights Into Fermentation‐Induced Bioactive Compounds and Metabolic Health‐Related Activities of White Corn Steep Liquor

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Time‐dependent fermentation caused dynamic changes in the bioactive constituents of white corn steep liquor and improved its antioxidant, antidiabetic, and antiobesogenic activities in vitro. ABSTRACT The present study investigated the effect of crude fermentation on white corn steep liquor and its bioactive constituents in the management of metabolic ...

Identification of Natural and Artificial Modifications in DNA at the Nanometer Level

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, Volume 57, Issue 6, Page 995-1007, June 2026.
Short single‐ and double‐stranded DNA sequences with natural and artificial markers are examined at ambient conditions using TERS to identify and localize the labelled nucleobases. The differences between single‐ and double‐stranded DNA should provide clear experimental evidence of the extreme surface sensitivity of TERS.

DNA Distortion Caused by Uracil-Containing Intrastrand Cross-Links

open access: yes, 2016
Four uracil-containing intrastrand cross-links have been detected in human cells upon UV irradiation of 5-bromouracil-containing DNA, namely 5′-G[8-5]U-3′, 5′-U[5-8]G-3′, 5′-A[8-5]U-3′, and 5′-A[2-5]U-3′.

Pharmacological characterization of Uracil nucleotide-sensitive P2Y receptors in mouse ileum

open access: yes, 2010
Since uracil nucleotide-preferring receptors, belonging to the P2Y receptor family and responding to either uridine triphosphate (UTP) or uridine diphosphate (UDP), have been proposed to be present at different cellular level in the gut, regulating ...

Kinetic Mechanism of Uracil Phosphoribosyltransferase from Escherichia coli and Catalytic Importance of the Conserved Proline in the PRPP Binding Site

open access: yes, 1999
Udgivelsesdato: March 16, 1999Phosphoribosyltransferases catalyze the formation of nucleotides from a nitrogenous base and 5-phosphoribosyl-a-1-pyrophosphate (PRPP).

The Role of N6‐Methyladenosine Modification in Health and Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) is the most prevalent internal RNA modification in eukaryotes, acting as a pivotal epitranscriptomic regulator of RNA metabolism. This modification plays a dual role: it maintains physiological homeostasis under normal conditions but drives disease progression when dysregulated.

Oxidative Stress and DNA Epigenetic Modifications in Cancer: Mechanisms and Targeted Therapeutics

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) modulate DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs), ten‐eleven translocation family proteins (TETs) and their cofactors, reshaping 5‐methylcytosine (5mC)/5‐hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC)/5‐formylcytosine (5fC) landscapes and gene expression in cancer cells. In turn, epigenetic control of antioxidant and metabolic pathways feeds back on

Investigation of the role and mechanism of effect of nucleotides on the isolated hearts of molluscs

open access: yes, 1968
1. All the four groujis of nucleotides investigated (adenine, guanine, uracil and cytosine) influence the functioning of the isolated Helix hearts. On Anodonta hearts cytosine nucleotides proved themselves to be ineffective.

Tautomerism‐Governed Two‐Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer in the Oxidation of a Molnupiravir by Electrogenerated Superoxide Radical Anion in N,N‐Dimethylformamide

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 21, 4 June 2026.
Tautomerization‐assisted oxidation of molnupiravir by superoxide (O2•−) in aprotic DMF. The thermodynamically favored oxime tautomer of the N4‐hydroxycytosine moiety forms a prereactive complex (PRC) with O2•− through hydrogen‐bonding interactions.
